I'm gettign a cuttlebug!

My birthday is the end of this month. Despite having guests from out of town over the weekend, I had to stop at Michaels and pick out a cart (ban-schman $39 bucks!). While I was lusting over many (it was hard to walk out with only 1), my cousin (aka the guest) says "I haven't bought you a present yet, so why don't you give me some ideas." While I was picking out carts, I noticed the cuttle bug was 50% off as well as all the dies (no Disney though), so I commented to her, that I wanted that as well. She goes "ok why don't go go the the pet store (another chore on my list) and i will meet you there." She insisted on wrapping the gifts and leaving them at my house for me to open on my birthday (she is from out of state). One of the boxes is obviously the cuttle bug and there are quite a few dies on top of it! There is also a gift bag, so i assume there is a cart in there, but it may be more dies if you decided to be sneaky. Either way, I am excited! I want to open it now! Since she is out of state, maybe she wont know if I open them early?? I have the sneaking suspicion my fiancé would rat me out!

What are the differences between the cuttlebug and the cricut? Will one do things the other doesn't? Is one less expensive?

Cuttlebug is a lot less expensive. I already have the cricut, so I am getting cuttlebug just for embossing. There are a few differences

1) cricut only cuts (and draws)
Cuttlebug cuts and embosses

2) Cricut images can be altered as in resized, cuttlebug is only one size

3) cricut needs to be plugged in, cuttlebug is manual

4) cricut carts have many different options per cart, cuttlebug dies are what you see you get.
