DH and I have been trying off and on for 11 years (many of those with IVF & other fertility treatments)... Well, it finally worked! This is the first time that we've even ever gotten pregnant.

Well, what I'm a bit :scared1: about is that we're leaving for Disney in two weeks, which will put me at about 9 weeks. Is there anything that I should know about that part of the pregnancy? Especially in relation to traveling?

Luckily, we've been there before & will go again, so I'm not upset about missing my favorite rides (ToT, EE, etc.). We're also staying at the Beach Club, so if I *have* to stay at the hotel, it won't be a hardship.

I know to drink lots of liquids, and I'll bring munchies to keep my tummy happy... Both my mom & my sister had very little morning sickness with their kids, so I'm hoping I follow in that trend. Is there anything I should bring with me just in case I get barfy?

Anyway, please keep your fingers crossed for me, and give me lots of good advice!! :)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!

The only thing I know of for you to take would be "Preggie Pops" DD got them at Motherhood shops. They are pricey tho...

Congratulations!!! As someone who struggled with fertility issues, I am sooo happy for you! :cool1: My only advice would be to relax and take it easy. You may be tired so take lots of time to take it easy, lounge by the pool etc.

CONGRATS!!!

Pick up some SeaBands... they are the only thing that helped my morning sickness with the only 2 pregnancies I've had that I got morning sickness. They look stupid but they work!

Just take it easy and keep hydrated. I think thats the key for Disney in the summer, especially when pregnant. If you feel tired, don't push yourself - go relax.

Just wanted to say Congratulations! We have one IVF baby after many years of trying and then another "surprise" arrived when he was 16 months. I went to Disney World when I was 4 months pregnant with my first and loved it. It was such a wonderful feeling to finally be there and see all the kids and know I was finally getting my own! I loved the preggy pops and lots of salty things to help my stomach..take lots of snacks!

 Whoo-Hoo!
Congratulations! Many, many best wishes for a health & happy nine months!

Lotsa fluids, take it easy & keep visualizing with positive, happy thoughts. :wizard:

Congrats, that's awesome! It should be fine to travel during that time in your pregnancy-consult Doctor though in case. I traveled to Universal Studios when I was 9 weeks with DD. I just avoided the wild rides (Doc said anything that required a lap bar or belt to avoid) and it was just as fun as other trips minus the coasters and adult beverages. I also went down to Disney while prego with DS (at 5 months) and that was a bit worse because I was a lot bigger then. At 9 weeks all I had was BAD morning, day and night sickness!!! Hope you get to avoid that at much as possible. I also say try the Ginger Pregopops (or Mommy pops). They do help with the morning sickness. Have a great trip as a couple and good luck with your pregnancy:)

I'm so very happy for you and your husband! Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy!

9 weeks is usually when M/S rears it's ugly head so just be prepared for some ALL DAY sickness just in case ;)

congrats!!! we struggled for a year and half with dd to get preggers. preggie pops for sure...and i think they still make them in the drops...you get about 20 for a little more than the pops them selves....i ate those for the first three months with ds.

flying is fine...another ride to avoid, dinosaur at ak.

Saltines and ginger tea calmed morning sickness for me.

Congrats on your pregnancy and have a great trip!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Such exciting news! I wish you a happy and healthy 9 months!!

CONGRATULATIONS! :cloud9: Dealing with infertility is so hard, I was on fertility meds to get both of my DD's. Enjoy this celebration time:hug:, take it slow:tiptoe:, take lots of rests, ginger ale and saltines helps if you are feeling the nausea.

Good luck with the rest of the pregnancy!

Congrats! I never had a bit of morning sickness, even with my twins. I admit that I went to hershey park and rode the coasters when I was 9 weeks pregnant with the twins, but I also had a pregnancy history where I never went into labor (I fell down a flight of stairs 41 weeks pregnant with #1, and had a failed induction with her almost a week later - my OB called me the cervix of steel). You might feel absolutely fine!

I just wanted to say congrats!! My DH and I tried for 14 yrs to get PG and we now have a wonderful (well, mostly, he still won't sleep through the night!) nine month old son. I would say take it easy and do what you feel comfortable. I also had very little morning sickness with my son, I think I only actually threw up once or twice. Again congrats to you and wishing you a Happy Healthy nine months!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! That is so wonderful.

I am 10 weeks PG and since I got my BFP, I have been eating ALL the time. I am lucky because I didn't have any m/s. So my advice is to get ready to eat lots of food, keep snacks and liquids handy!!!! And don't worry about it too much! ENJOY!

Congrats and I was in a similar situation in 2007 we were going to Univeral and on top of it all I was a High Risk pregnancy.

Wear good shoes. Even at 9 weeks in makes a difference. Lots and lots of water and lots and lots of rest. Disney will still be there. Take it easy and slow. Oh and take loads of pictures because you will see differences in yourself that you don't see in the mirror.

I hope you have a blast and best of luck

Congratulations :) IVF is hard....we've been through 2 now and no success yet (well, sort of....we had chemicals). I think you'll be fine on the trip though....the baby is nice and protected in you and just be sure to eat, hydrate and rest :)

Oh and contact your doctor and ask for a prescription for Zofran or something similar....just in case. Just because your mother and sister didn't have morning sickness doesn't mean you won't. It's different for each person and it would be bad to be far away from home with no relief if you did get sick.

I've heard that those motion sickness bands can work as well, so you might pick up a pair of those at Walgreens...again, just in case ;)

Congratulations! The best advice I can give you is to listen to your body. If you're tired, rest. If you're hungry, eat. If you feel pukey, eat what sounds good. Triscuits were my food of choice around that point.

Don't push yourself too hard, and have a great time!

Oh, and make sure while you are actually traveling that you get up and walk around a bit now and then. Deep vein thrombosis is something you have to watch out for.
