I'm even obsessed with my sister's trip!

My sister and her family (husband, 2 kids) went to Disney today, and I'm obsessed with everything about her trip! What is she packing, what is in her carryon, where will she stay (SSR), what pool will she use? I sit here and wonder what park she is at right now (I think MK) and what she is doing?

She is Disney-unexperienced. She's been once before, she hates heat, she hates lines (I know, I know, what was she thinking, July 4th week???? :confused3 ). I mean, I love Disney, but I don't think I ever want to deal with those crowds! I'm so afraid for her - that she will hate it!

I wish I was there to help her out! That's right, I wish I was with her for HER benefit, not mine! :rotfl2:

So who else obsesses about other people's trip????

Yes! Everytime someone I know is going I'm always thinking about what they are doing and IF THEY WILL LISTEN TO ME.

I always wind up giving advice and and it makes mewant to go soooooooooooooooooooooooooooobad!! So you are not alone:thumbsup2

My best friends ex is going to be taking their daughter to Disneyland in a year and I am already more obsessed with his trip than he is. Hopefully he will do his research :surfweb: or else I will have to take his daughter and show how Disney is supposed to be done :rolleyes1 . A tough job but someone has to do it.

I feel some what responsible when I give people WDW advice. You want to give them as many tips as possible but in the end they have to make mistakes and learn what is best for them. Mostly I just give them the absolute must dos. Get to the park early, FP etc.

Last year a man I work with was planning a trip to WDW. I helped him plan his ADR's, his park days, where he was staying, and I even made his ADR's for him becuase he got busy at work and couldn't do it. I felt like it was my vacation. I was more excited about them going than his family was.

I don't get this involved with everybody I work withs trip, this guy is a good friend and asked me for help. He was going to try to surprise his family but ended up not being able to keep the secret.

We've been to WDW 40 X's and when someone talks Disney, our ears perk up. I try to stay out of their business but when wrong ideas and info start flying around, I just got to put my 2 cents in. Example, sister and brother in law, talking at our local pub Friday, looking for a Disney trip. They have been 2 times before on our recommendations but come home and say they wish we were there to guide them through. Now they are talking staying on Plaza Blvd, having shuttle buses to the parks and all the amenities of staying on property. Well I beg to differ, I've read everything Disney each and everyday, and alot of resorts off property promise alot but in reality they don't. I gave them a web site to check codes, great discounts to stay on property and actually get whats promised. No parking fees, entitlement to EMH, free dining and a resort close to the action.

I guess they still are picking a resort off property,Plaza Bvld, going to pay to park or use the shuttle bus that runs maybe 4 times a day, not letting off where the Disney buses do and still thinking they have access to EMH and room delivery. They are shopping price, 90 bucks I think, values are cheaper than that but they think they are getting a suite for that price and all of Disneys perks. That's it for me, said it once, go and see and enjoy your trip, I wash my hands of anymore suggestions but when they always come home from a Disney stay, we ask and they say we didn't see that, didn't do that and we should go together with us and see how we get everything. I tried.

Join the club -- let me hear the words Walt Disney World and I am all over the person about where they are staying ... restaurants ... etc....

My van pool member and I talked endlessly about one of his upcoming trips. We went thru the trivia books, talked about restaurants and rides ... etc...

He told me that while he and his wife were at WDW, at various times his wife kept asking what I had to say about this ride ... or eating place ... :lmao: (It was ALMOST as good as being there!)

My aunt & her DS & Dgd3 are there right now. You don't want to know how many E-mails I've sent to help her plan her trip :rotfl2:

From the airport they called & my 3 yr old cousin was so excited about getting ready to go on the big plane to see Mickey :yay: it was so exciting to hear about! Can't wait for their trip report popcorn::

I have a lovely picture of my 2 aunts & their 2 friends taken with all the princesses princess: they had it made for me as a way to thank me for organizing a trip we all took in 2005. :grouphug: Aunt's friend said it was the BEST vacation she ever took.

When people talk about how crowded and how they wait to do stuff at WDW, my mom always tells them to call me - when we go, she always has a great time, no waits and doesn't have to plan a thing! :thumbsup2

And I get calls from people who are friends of my friends asking WDW advice. I love helping people plan their trips. I figure if I'm not going now, I can live vicarously through them!!! :rotfl:

And yet, since joining the DISboards, I've learned quite a few new tricks myself :disrocks: :thanks:

I can relate to this one as I am obsessed with my manager's trip in September. I have already saved him money and recommended restaurants for their trip. And he has been there.

i feel the same way! My sons get back today from WDW and staying at the WL. I wanted to go so bad after hearing about the great plans my parents had made for them! I helped them pick the WL to stay. They get back in a few hours and I can't wait to see the pics!

Well, they returned from their trip....

Their first comment... "Disney is overrated."

My husband's response... "You didn't do your homework." :lmao:

The Fourth of July? What did you expect? Oh well, you can't convert everyone. :sad2:

This type of thread is usually found on the theme parks community board, so I'm going to move this there now.
