Congrats - and luckily there is no rule about planning the wedding prior to the engagement....lol...my BF and I are already planning our Sept 2010 wedding, although have not made our engagement official as of yet...luckily no one here on the Disboards has ousted me for it yet

Thanks for the congratulations everyone! This is such a welcoming board.

The proposal:

We are both police officers (well technically he's a Deputy Sheriff) so I'm kind of TRAINED in picking up on people's behaviors, etc. haha....so he knew that he was going to have to really pull one over on me, for me not to know what was going on.

We had been talking about getting engaged for awhile. But that really got kicked into high gear after we went to WDW earlier this month for the Princess Half Marathon. So, Sunday night we went to the movie Watchmen (which...I wouldn't recommend...it's almost 3 hours long) and got home around 1:30am. We were just getting ready for bed....in fact I was almost asleep....when he starts talking about how he can't handle the distance anymore (we live 3 hours apart) and how he hates it....so at this point I'm getting CONCERNED! But then he says...are you excited to go to my Grandma's tomorrow and show her the Disney pictures? And I say yeah..and then he's like well how about we tell them WE'RE ENGAGED! And he pulled out the ring box. Which I didn't even know he had!

So I was completely surprised and we go to spend all day yesterday telling everyone. I've already purchased Carrie's Passporter and the planning has OFFICIALLY begun!!

We are thinking about doing it so that we can have our wedding AND do the Princess Half Marathon next March.

Oh my goodness what a WONDERFUL story! I said Ooeee out loud when I ready it! Much happiness and joy to you both during your planning. I can't wait to read about your plans.

I'm so jealous I so wanted a Disney wedding, but he wanted to get married in North Carolina (the state we met) he is kinda a sap hehe

But the honeymoon is the next best thing!!!
