I'm disenchanted with Disney World, now.

We don't stay onsite and we went between 12-3 to 12-10. Even at rope drop it was tough getting legacy fastpass. The return times were not convenient in most situations, either. The waits on popular rides for stand by were incredibly long. Some rides had 110 minutes for a wait time in stand by. Toy Story Mania during a second showing of Fantasmic had incredible long lines with fastpass which were actually out of the building and winding around the building. I have never seen a fastpass line do this. This is suppose to be a time to ride this ride in standby because everyone is suppose to be at Fantasmic. Well, we skipped this ride. We went at rope drop on a second day for this ride and you had to stand in line for fastpass distribution for an half hour just to get a legacy fastpass for a 4 pm time. I'm not staying in the park at 4 pm if I entered the park at 9 am. We need to take breaks. With other legacy fastpass rides we were able to get better times, but it still was not convenient times most of the time.

I'm pretty savvy at Disney World and it seems to us to be too much effort, now. The return on monies spent is just not there any more for us. It's just not fun any more spending that much time in lines. I felt like a second class citizen not staying onsite.

I will say for us the MVMCP was better for rides; however, you get to spend an additional $62 each for that privilege. It was still crowded, but doable. Our night was sold out. I will say I did not see CMs enforcing the non party goers out of the park. There was a lot of abuse, here. That took away from the party as well.

I know it's better for onsite guests with fastpass plus, but we always managed more fastpasses under the old system than the new system. We probably averaged three to six fastpasses depending on the park. Some fastpasses were repeat rides for us.

I think my days are done, here. I've enjoyed my times for many years, but this is just getting too hard for us, now.

Also, I don't want to be this regimented on a vacation. Even if you stay on site you now have to plan your rides, as well as, your meals ahead of time. It's so rigid, now. I talked with some magic band people and they said it wasn't easy trying to change a fastpass plus on the same day. In some cases it worked, but in other situations it did not. You would lose your fastpass plus and only get a fastpass plus for a lesser ride if you changed on the same day.

We did enjoy the Christmas activities there, but that is not enough for us to do it again as is. Maybe, when the final product of fastpass plus gets around to offsite guests I'll feel better about trying again.

I hope others have a better experience.

I'm sorry your experience wasn't so 'magical'.

There are so many other great things to do in the U.S. and I hope you and your family find something fun and more enjoyable to do next time!

I am sorry you feel this way. I liked the FP+ system, since I always stay onsite. (It actually solved the FP problems for TS Mania, Test Track, and Soarin' by allowing us to choose a good time to ride.) So I liked it, Magic Bands, FP+, but I understand your feelings.

I will make a suggestion, since you live in the middle of the US, more or less. Try Disneyland. No FP+ there, just regular FP, and many rides there do not even have FP, so the standby moves quickly. You will never see 2 hour limes there for TS Mania either! Overall the lines are shorter, and it is much easier to interact and meet the characters. (the large AP local guest population there does not run for autographs on their frequent visits, the way WDW tourist guests do).

There is serious doubt that they would bring FP+ to DL, since they only have the 3 hotels, and cater mostly to locals. And DL is wonderful. Close to perfection…..

I agree with this. Have you tried Disneyland? You do have to be careful about when you visit. Weekdays are usually much less crowded than weekends. Whether local kids are in school makes a big difference. But, Disneyland has special magic and although we miss some of the WDW experiences when we're there, we prefer Disneyland overall. Probably even more so now with the FP+/FP thing.

I really enjoyed DL and with my autistic twins I think it was a great place to try first. Yes Disneyland is smaller but in the best way. Very easy to stay where both parks and dtd are a short walk away. Very nice when you are pushing stroller.

I agree with many of your comments about your recent trip. We (five adults, once child) were at WDW last week, stayed on property and did not use MDE, FP+ or Magic Bands. We have some serious issues with Magic Bands and security that the average CM could not answer. Plus we do not know from one day to the next what park we want to visit, where we want to eat, what attractions we want to see, etc. We like to be flexible and Disney is not giving us that option. My joke is will Disney schedule my rest room breaks, too :)?

We were at the MK during the day of the sold out MVMCP last week. Never again! You are correct that Disney did nothing to get us out of the park. It was a nightmare trying to get out because so many party guests were already sitting and standing 2-3 deep around the Hub and down Main Street waiting for the party parade.

We, too, felt like second class citizens. We usually come back from seeing and hearing all the Christmas festivities rejuvinated and ready for the holidays, but not this trip. We will wait and see how this all plays out, but we are already looking at other areas in the USA to visit.

What security issue you have a cm couldn't answer. Soon their wont be any legacy fast passes only fast pass plus and soon their might not be room keys their testing magic bands only at two resorts.

Most security gears people have can also be found in their own credit cards with RFID chips in it. You also get to decide what you want on it plus the only thing on the band Is a number and your name their other info on it.

That first weekend in WDW is the football and cheerleader tournament, making it more crowded than other weekends. That may also have added to the wait times.

I have always had high praise for Disney. We have been to Disneyland and the last time was 2011. We were able to ride Toy Story Mania three times in a row without getting off the ride. I think that's why I'm so dissatisfied with Disney World and the same ride having such long waits. It's not anyone's fault it's just I don't want to have those kind of wait times at Disney World.

We drive on most of our vacations and Disneyland is not a yearly option because we do drive. It's just too far away to do it every year. Also, I like the four parks rather just having two parks.

I will see how the fastpass plus develops and I hope it may be better in it's final phase out.

Over the last few years we've been taking different vacations away from Disney and I'm enjoying them more and spending less for the enjoyment. I just can't justify Disney World right now for us. Disney has changed through the years and I'm sure there will be other changes and maybe then it will be more to my liking again.

This is why we would not do WDW if our kid's didn't have a Fall Break in mid-September. I just don't see how the expense could be worth the wait times. If you are posting on the disABILITIES sub-forum, why didn't you get the DAS (I am new and do not know your situation)?

Nothing could get me disenchanted with Disney World (and I had a guy "drinking his way around the world" at EPCOT puke all over my back)

We use scooters; so, we really do not need a DAS right now.

Need or would the DAS have helped you? The fact that those who are physically disabled no longer qualify for any assistance worries me and it should worry Disney given your experience and decision to no longer visit a Disney park. I am sorry for your verdict but could not agree more.

I just have to ask why should it worry Disney with her experience to me it sound like she had the same experience as every other guest has with that ride.

Toy Story Mania in the past for us has been an hour wait, not two hours. I've done that ride year after year. I would be afraid my battery on my scooter wouldn't survive these long lines and we can't stand for that long to park the scooter. So, it's a no go for us.

It wasn't just this ride with long waits. We just gave up going on the rides with long waits. With that said I felt like I had half the experience compared to past trips. That's just not worth it for us.

I know there are some growing pains right now with magic bands and fastpass plus; so, once the final product is out I'll make a decision about returning to Disney World or not.

I understand and not saying your wrong I just saying when I go at rope drop and earlier i also have faced lines at the fast pass and getting a return time sometimes for 6 and it being 920. Most times when I walk by it their a 60-100 plus wait on stand by I won't so that stand by if I don't get fat pass I don't go on it. But for me I like to take pics and shop and see the sites so for me not going on that ride is not a big deal but see how it would be for others. I also go around three to four times a year and all not during the summer and with same results. It he only ride at Dhs I get fast pass for and really ride so it be the only one I get fast pass plus.

What will help is if they build another big ticket attraction to pick up the slack but since you story mania is so popular. Still to this day it will have long lines that Disney didn't prepare for and expect when building the ride. As I think they would of designed it a little different to handle the crowds better.
