Ok I really need to get a life. Its kinda scary when a new vaccuum can make a gal this happy.

But I must tell you I love it. We have central vac which I hate, its just too cumbersome to set up, so we bought the Dyson. Just for a test I completely vaccuumed the entire house with our central and it looked great and not a speck on the floor, well along comes Mr Dyson, and I'll ya, it picked up so much stuff and then the animal hair thing works wonders!! I am in love;)

I've heard nothing but wonderful things about the Dyson! Look's like another satisfied customer..............I am going to have to look into getting this vac!!

Good to see a British invention giving you so much enjoyment!

I want one!! When either one of my vacuums show any sign of age, out it goes and in comes the Dyson! What's the animal hair thing you referred to, Momtomootoo?

Oh, I've been wanting to get one but they're so expensive. I'm still saving up $. I was debating whether or not to spend the extra $100 to get "The Animal" with the pet hair attachment. It looks like that would be the way to go especially with all the pet hair from our 2 cats and a shedding dog! It looks like it would be great to do the stairs with, tool I'm glad to hear how much you like yours. I just have to be patient.....

The one that comes with the pet hair attachment is $399 (I think). That's a lot of money for a sweeper which is the only reason why I don't have one yet! I can only dream for now.

The cheapest one is $399. The higher priced one is $499. We found one of the $399 ones open boxed at Best Buy and it was only $350. We love it. It picks up so much debris when I vacuum; I can't believe so much gets on our carpets every week!!!!

You're right, AZKathy. The price I gave was wrong. The more expensive one is called the Animal and it is listed at $499.99 at Best Buy. Gasp! No wonder I'm still waiting!

I looooooooove my Dyson!!! 4 years ago after keeping our mama dog's puppies in our bedroom the first 6 weeks, I sprinkled the floor with a little baking soda in an attempt to get rid of... er... uh... doggy smells. :o This was 4 years ago. I've since vacuumed this area many many many times! Along came the Dyson YEARS after the fact, and lo and behold, picked up baking soda the antique Phantom had repeatedly missed over the years. I was sold.

We have a Fantom Lightning (canister) and it does ok but I think (even after only 4 years and 4 repairs by me) it's time for it to go so I will look at the Dyson.

I had heard so many good things about the Dyson on this board that I recommended it to my mom. She just got "The Animal" last week, and she loves it! She had to get on the waiting list at Linens and Things and one finally came in. To top it off, she had a 20% off coupon from Bed, Bath, and Beyond that Linens and Things accepted, so she got $100 off the cost.

I've got an Oreck and it doesn't work near as well as her Dyson. I've got two cats, and she has no pets, so I'm REALLY jealous of her new vacuum cleaner!

In the UK we can also buy a Dyson washing machine (it's multi-coloured!) - unfortunately it costs around £1000.00!!

I love my new "Animal" Dyson! It does a great job. I've had a Rainbow for several years and hated the empyting, etc. My only, and this is only complaint about my Dyson is that it's purple. Not that I don't like purple, it's just that I think of vacuum sweepers being a more "conservative" color. Don't have to search for it in the closet, though:;)
