Okay I called DFTW yesterday to see if I can get penciled in as I will soon be hitting the 18 month mark and the lady was so rude!! She said you can't get penciled in at 18 months and that I can't speak to a WC or get penciled in until 12 months out:mad: I want the Wedding Pavillion and Atlantic Dance Hall so I thought we could sign the contract at 12 months!!! whats going on here?? :confused3 She was so mean :sad1: Should I call back and try to speak to someone else?

I noticed that different people tell you different things. Some of the sales managers will pencil you in, and others will not. I would try to talk to another sales manager, or at least talk to the one you have know and see what you can work out. GL and here is some pixie dust :tink:

Yeah, definitely try back - one of the things about the people answering phones at Disney, for better or worse, is that the right hand never knows what the left hand is doing, so to speak! You'll get three different answers out of three different people...

I'm so sorry you had such a crummy call - nobody should be made to feel that way!

OMG! I'm so sorry to hear that :sad1: ! What number did you call and who did you speak to? I called the number in Modern Bride at first and they were very rude. About a week later I called the number on the DFTW site and they were great.
I would call back and ask to speak to someone else. I hope you get a better response, I know how much this means to you  .

my advice: don't tell them your wedding date or worse lie! lol Seriously when you call tell them you are having a wedding in a year and want to speak to a consultant to get prices and what not. Once you have them and they give prices explain that you will most likely be thinking of a later date due to savings or weather. Thats what I did and it worked. I had a site visit at 18 months out and was in contact with them sooner than that. Give it another try and don't let this one person give you a bad taste. most people at DFTW are awesome.

I called in December for next July and she pencled me in! Definatly call back! I spoke to Pam Pearce shes awsome I feel like I am being really annoying I send her emails like every week with lists and lists of questions but she answers every question and tells me that I am not being a pain and she will answer any questions I ask even though its still really early for me.

WOW...DFTW you would think would be the LAST place you would have to deal with rude people...Im sorry

I agree w/everyone else...call back & try again,....persistance pays off in anything with life.....dont give up!!!!

Call back! The phones are often answered by a call center team and they may be telling you what they have been told to say rather than allowing you to speak to a WC.

I would definately call back! I called at the end of May for a date in Dec '08 (so it was actually about 18 1/2 months out) and got pencilled in and mailed a little packet of info from my Sales consultant. Call back, its always someone different answering the phone anyways. :)

I called at 9 months out (for an escape at the WP) and they wouldn't pencil me in and didn't even mention that a wishes had already requested it, which I found out when I had to phone back at 8 months. They seem to make it up as they go along!!

I called at my 18 month mark and got pencilled in, but I too had the same problems when I first called, very rude and no help at all. I called back and spoke with someone else and withing a week Heidi called me to discuss our wedding and she penciled in our date.

I would call them back for sure

Sorry they were so rude - that's never acceptable.

The one thing I will say is that their rules are not very clear, and it's easy for someone in a call center to not know all the options. Since the majority of brides cannot book until 8 months out, the rule was that you werent' even supposed to be penciled in until 12 months out. Now that there seem to be more brides that can book at 12 months (custom with an in park event) or even futher out (the new David T weddings), the rules for penciling in have gotten very blurry. Some are able to do it early, some are not. I would not take it personally, or as a sign that the rest of your plans will not go well. I'd just call back, tell them you're looking at early 08, and then when you talk to the SM, tell her that you've decided later in 08 is better.

Have fun with the rest of the planning!

When I called up in May 07 and I was thinking of either May 08 or Dec 08. So I would give an earlier date then what you may be thinking. And if they give you much hassle, then ask to speek to someone else. I am not sure if the WC are called cast members, I think they are, if so ask to talk to there lead. Because no matter how far away your wedding is, they shouldn't be mean about it. I am sorry you had a bad phone call, don't give up, just call back with an date for a year from now.

Thanks guys so much for all your support:grouphug:
I'm definately going to call back and maybe lie lol
You guys are the greatest
