I'm coming down a day earlier...ideas for arrival day?

I decided instead of driving down and checking into pop late, i'm going to stay offsite for a night and check into pop first thing in the morning on my arrival day. It's pop so I don't know if I can spend a whole day at the resort. Even though my kids insist they never have enough time at the pool, since I spend all my time in the parks! Anyone have any fun cheap ideas? I have a 6 day ticket and a one day water park ticket. I don't even know if I like the water parks enough to change them to a water park fun and more option, and i'm not sure if I want to pay $40 something to add on another park day. My kids aren't too into downtown disney. So, any fun new ideas?

They are not into Disney Quest? You get 2 free tickets if you have a package. Not into bowling either, that would be another option at DTD. Miniature golf at either location? You also get two free games with a package. Visiting other resorts? All evening activities but: Electric water pageant, Chip and Dale campfire, movie time by the resort pool.
