I know nothing! My daughter mentioned going to Sea World for a day during her special 13th Birthday trip. I seriously have no idea what Sea World really is like. Is it all shows? Do they have rides? Can you do most of it in one day? Is it expensive? What are the highlights? I myself would rather just stay at Disney but it's not my birthday I guess. ;) She really wants to feed the dolphins. Can you do that? Is it an extra cost? I feel so dumb! I just do not know anything. I read up on their site a little bit but I'm just confused how to actually tour Sea World, if that makes sense?

The most important question of all is how do we get there from a WDW hotel if we do not have our own car?

Please take pity on this poor, clueless soul. :sad2:

No, Sea World is not all shows.
Yes, you can feed dolphins.
Yes, there is an extra charge for that.

As far as a plan-If feeding dolphins are key, I would head there first thing in the morning. It gets very crowded and the feedings are limited.

You can also feed, rays, sharks, and sea lions.

They also have several roller coasters (type) rides. Manta, Kracken and Journey to Atlantis (water ride).

Sea World also has an all day dining plan.

As far as transportation-you can take a Lynx bus or schedule a ride with Mears. Or you can rent a car for the day.

There are also behind the scenes tours (fee) that include some fun hands on animal interactions.

Plan your day around shows. Decide which shows you want to see on the Seaworld website. The most popular shows are obviously the Shamu show "One Ocean", the Dolphin show "Blue Horizons", and the Sealion show "Clyde And Seamore Take Pirate Island." See the Seaworld website for show times for your visit, and then plan to visit exhibits around the show stadiums before and after the show. That way, your not running all over the park and wasting unnecessary time.

Thank you both so much! I was looking for some sort of starting point. :) I appreciate the help!

No problem! :)

I would recommend that you check into the animal interactions - one of these would make for an extra special birthday surprise. The following is a list with price:
Marine Mammal Keeper Experience - $399 per person
Beluga Interaction Program - $99 or $149 with special photo

Also these tours offer additional opportunities to feed and interact with the animals:
Penguins Up-close - $40
Dolphins Up-close - $50
Sea Lions Up-close - $40

I am personally hoping to participate in the Beluga Interaction program in January while my husband is wanting us all to do the Penguin Up-close program this September.

Hope this helps
