I'm beginning to hate Direct TV

We use to have Comcast and absolutely hated it. It was always going out.

We have had Direct TV for just about a year now and we LOVE IT!

we have had Directv for ever it seems, have added 2 receivers and never had any problems... :D

We use Verizon for our internet connection because Comcast charges you more if you don't use them for tv. Our reception wit DTV has been good and we've only lost reception a few times for only a couple of minutes. It costs us $5.00 each for 2 of our receivers. So even with that it is only a little bit more than cable and we do get more channels.

We've had DirecTV for about 3 years now, 2 boxes original, one new one with TIVO, and they have all worked great, no problems at all.
We've lost signal a couple of times during heavy storms, but it's because we're aiming through some heavy trees, and when the leaves get wet and start blowing around, they get right in front of the dish. No problems at all unless it's middle/end of summer when the leaves are really full.

We've had Direct TV for about 3 years...
4 receivers, we've even moved with the system and never had a problem.

We pay about $40 less a month than we would for the same cable here.

We had Dish network for 2 or 3 years. Loved it, no problems. Well when we moved I got Directv since we were getting Tivo and I heard all the problems DN people had with their Tivo's messing up.
We have had DT since April and I dont like it. Getting hold of someone in customer service is like trying to call Donald Trupm--cant get anyone on the line. The 2 times I have needed them it took me over a hour to finally get the problem fixed and several customer service reps  over a problem that took less than 5 minutes to fix. Once our contract is up we are going back to Dish network.

I have had DirecTV for just over 9 years and aside from temp. signal loss in storms and such, I've had few problems.
I did have to replace my original 8-bit receiver about 2 years ago with a 32-bit, but for $70.00 how could I complain?
I know people who have had both and say that DTV is far superior to Cox, Comcast or Adelphia.

We've had DirecTv for almost 3 years now and we LOVE it. I would NEVER go back to cable. Our cable went out everytime the wind blew in a different direction. We have never had a problem with DT. Yes, sometimes if there is a BIG storm the picture will go away but I think the longest it has ever happened was 10 mintues. In April this year, we even picked up Tivo and are so addicted. So now we have 2 receivers and 1 Tivo. We pay much less than we would with cable. Plus now you can add your Directv service to Bellsouth bundles and I saved $10 month on my DT bill. LOVE IT! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Oh, also on a side note....NEVER USE AN OUTSIDE INSTALLER. When we first got our DT, a contractor came to install it and my husband had to finally tell him to leave. The guy was not installing it correctly. He was trying to string the cable down the wall instead of inside the wall, didn't want to install a phone line and was hanging our dish on the side of the house (so low we could touch it). My husband called Directv and the immediately sent out a Directv techinician who was absolutely wonderful.

Keeping fingers crossed. We haved had DTV for a few years with no problems.

We love Direct Tv and hate our local cable company Rogers but hey as it was said they all will do something to piss you off after awhile it is just a matter of time. inda like insurance companies all they are really after is the money.

This is a timely thread for me. We were notified last week that our cable company is discontinuing service in our area. So if we want to watch anything (antenna can pick up only 3 stations here) we will have to go to a satellite system. We have been pricing them here and have about decided to go with Dish network. I hope we don't have some of the problems you have all had.

I have to say that I LOVE Directv! We've had it for about 10 years now. NEVER did they overcharge me. NEVER has my receiver broke. I called them about a week ago to get a new remote and I wasn't on the phone 5 minutes. Very good service. We have the basic package plus sports and only pay $39.99 a month.

I can't complain at all.

We've had DirecTV for about 6 years... the only complaint I have is that we lose our signal in heavy rain, heavy snow, or thunderstorms. But they don't offer cable in our area so we don't really have a choice. We've never had a problem with any of our receivers, we've never been overcharged, and I really can't think of anything bad to say about them. We also enjoy using the pay per view feature because we rarely get a chance to go to the video store to rent. So I guess I'd recommend it, at least from our experiences.

Love Directv...
Only problem was one time Cassie reprogrammed it..:earseek: ...had to figure out how to get it to work again...after a couple hours and some foul language it worked fine..:jester:
