Well just got back and we had a BLAST!!! If anyone has any questions feel free.

Just missed the screamin accident by a day. We rode it Thursday night and accident happened Friday night.

Now I am just counting down to DW!!!

Welcome back Kelly!!
I'm glad you had a good time. We had a blast too, but I thought the crowds on Mon & Tues were pretty bad.
I pulled out my WDW books yesterday and I'm ready to get down to some serious planning for Nov also!

Hey I didn't see anyone from here :( but it was fun. I wasn't there monday but yeah Tuesday was crazy. We did early entry Tuesday and were able to hit Space Mtn. I don't know about you but it seemed pretty much the same to me. Don't get me wrong it is a great ride but it didn't seem that different.

Hope you guys had a good time.

I had to get up at 5 2 different days to make PS for our DW trip LOL. I got the first week booked so next Friday I am going to call and get the 2nd week booked. I wish they would post the Oct hours!!

We were there Friday through Tuesday. We didn't see your family. I would have remembered those red-headed cuties! I personally think Space is "restored" with a few added improvements. The speakers work great! I love the re-entry too. That was truly cool. Maybe an evening ride would be even better when they get the "Rockit Mountain" version started. We rode it 6 times in 4 days. It was and still is my family's favorite. Oh, you are so lucky you missed the horrible muggy weather!

Yeah we still love space but I thought it would be WAY different for as long as it was on rehab. I have a feeling after a year and everyone has had a chance to ride it will go back to no wait like it was before the rehab which is FINE with me. Those long lines are NUTS!

I also didn't get to take as many pics as I wanted of the gold vehicles. :( All in all it was a great trip though.

We just got back last night too! We missed the screamin' accident by about 45 minutes!! We rode it, then went on a few of the other "pier" rides. My DD asked to ride screamin' again, but I told her it didn't look like it was running, so we walked to the front of the park. A little while later, we saw a couple of CM's in "professional" attire (not a costume) on a cell phone and a walkie talkie, headed in the direction of the pier. We went back to DL, and noticed the six helicopters hovering overhead! Unreal!

We couldn't believe the crowds in DL (and the lack of crowds in CA). Rode SM a few times (had it break down while we were on it the first time - then the next day it broke down twice while we waited in line). The mass of humanity for the fireworks was unbelievable (and the fact people stake out a spot at 5:30 for the 9:30 show blew us away!). But we did have fun. I'm trying to write a trip report, hopefully I'll be able to post it tomorrow!

I would love to read everyone's reports who were just there. We will be going soon and would love to read about it!

I did a report for mouseplanet but haven't done one on here yet. I will admit I am absolutely exhausted. We usually go in the off season so we get to sleep in a bit and the parks close earlier so not such long days.

We were up around 5 or 6 every single day and stayed out till 10 or later. By Friday I was toast. I came home Saturday and could hardly move.

I did a real crappy report and left a lot out but wanted to just get what I could down on paper.

We had a great time though and feel free to ask any questions you might have.

I've tried three times today to post the beginning of my report, but every time I try, I'm getting a message that I posted the thread within the past five minutes, or that there's a problem and to try again. I know when I did my trip report last August, I composed it in Appleworks, and cut and pasted into the box here on the boards, so I'm not sure what the hang up is. I've posted replies to a couple of threads to be sure my account wasn't messed up, so I guess I'll keep trying. Sooner or later, it should work!!

I hope you get your report up too Disneylovers...I love reading about people's trips....especially when they have a good time, and give things that helped them have a good time when it is crowded.

Kelly, I can totally understand why you were so tired...those were some long days. I will have to go over to mouseplanet and try and find your report there, but I do have a question.

You had said that you usually go during off season and that is when I usually go as well. The hours are much shorter and later in the morning. So doing both, which do you prefer?? The shorter hours or having more freedom with longer hours? I am not too happy with the slower season right now because summer season not only had 2 fantasmics a night, but every night. It just seems like everything is so limited with the shorter hours, but if crowds are cut that significantly in value season, then I will stay with it. Tell me what your experience with that has been, and which you prefer to do now that you have experienced both?? Thanks! :cheer2:

I just finished a trip report on the WDW boards and was having the same problem with posting them....they wouldn't go on....I just kept waiting and trying again and eventually they all got posted.....though the last one took 3 days!

I would like to write a trip report but have been so busy trying to recover/get ready for work/catch up on laundry/clean the house/take care of sick animals/kids/etc. It's been crazy since we got home and my husband is out of town. Since someone asked here, I'll post here. :flower:

Hubby took the digital too. Sorry, no pics.

Michelle I will ALWAYS take the off season over high season. Eventhough the parks are open less there are usually less crowds and we actually get to do more. The day we went to DCA we only went on 4 rides. Now granted we took some time to have a character meal, see Aladdin and have a nice dinner and watch the ELP.

I have walked into DCA in the off season and walked right on every ride, even Soarin.

This time the fast passes were gone by mid day and the standby was 90 mins. ACK!

We have seen fantasmic SO many times including doing the desert buffet that I don't feel the need to do it again. When my kids are a little bigger I may do the desert deal again cuz they were pretty little before and don't remember it but otherwise I can forgo it to have less crowds.

Our fav time of year is during the holidays when there are no crowds. Like end of Oct beginning of Nov or even the first week of Dec.

I think people are figuring it out though cuz we went the week before Christmas in 03 and it was pretty crowded.

We are going to DW in Late Oct early Nov and hope it is not too crowded although we will be there over halloween and during the Food and Wine festival so we shall see.

I built in several off days this time though and with the shorter park hours we should hopefully not be AS tired I hope.

At this point our next trip to DLR won't be till fall of 06. Yes over a year away. But that is ok cuz we have DW this fall and I don't like going any other time of year.

We hope to go to uinversal for a day too next time. My kids have never been so hopefully that will work out.

Anyway sorry for getting off on a tangent LOL but I have done off season many times as well as high and I will take off and shorter hours ANY day.

Thanks for your advice! We have been to Disneyland many times but only in the offseason, and have always wondered if busy season had more to offer, but you confirmed my suspicions...just had see what you preferred, especially since you had been in both busy and slow seasons. I guess I am getting tired of the shorter hours, and had to speculate LOL!

We have mostly gone end of October, and beginning of November, and while the crowds probably aren't bad compared to summer months, it does seem to me that it is steadily getting more crowded every year at that time too. That is why we are trying September this year.
We went to WDW at the beginning of October, and it was great!

Thanks again for your input!

No problem. Any time!! Enjoy and we can share our stories (yours of DL and I'll share my DW experience) :) Last time we went to DW was May of 02 so it's been awhile and we are going during a diff time of year so are anxious to see how different it is.
