I'm back :D and can't walk again, but still it was worth it!

Don't think there will be a trip report - lazy student / didn't take many photos this year etc.

The weather was great while we were there.

The park was a lot busier than it usually is in August, i'm assuming because of the flash sale?

Don't really have a lot to say really, didn't get to do a lot of what I wanted to do in the end because I couldn't walk without pain again, I ended up having to wear my little brothers shoes and undoing all the velcro! (does anyone have any comfortable shoes they can recommend? New converse, flossys and nike trainers don't do well for me! although old converse do, but my mam won't let me go wearing shoes with holes in them! XD)

I will say though, people need to stop their children running around so much in queues, I know its a holiday and they're supposed to have fun, but its dangerous! This little boy behind me in the queue was running around and his mam didn't say anything, and then he slipped, in SICK, he was covered in it and she still made him stand in the 30min queue! my mam gave him a bottle of water to try and clean himself, he was gagging all the time and complaining he stunk of sick, which didn't really make me comfortable because he kept bumping into me D:

:( the poor kid

And for the first time, I actually had a bad experience at The Santa Fe, first off the person who checked us in said our room was on the ground floor, and had bunk beds, we got there and it was upstairs with double beds! Then the bathroom was mouldy etc (obviously, some mould was expected because theres no window in there), the ceiling fan shook far too much we thought it was going to fall off!, and then they turned off the water, it said it would be off until 4pm, so we went back at 4 to have our baths, and the water was still off! we gave up the wait around 5pm and wen't back to the parks.

But on the plus side! We met this amazing CM on POTC, he was called Cedric I think, he's the best CM we've ever encountered! And then the second day we saw him he said he remembered me from the day before ^_^

I'll probably post a picture of him later - while the ride was having tech. problems he was playing with everyone who was waiting and having photos taken.

Oh and on a personally devastating note - for years theres been this Mickey plate I wanted, and I was finally allowed to get it as my graduation present this year - of course they don't sell them anymore!! I got a Stitch plate instead, but its just not the same :(

This has half turned into a trip report by the looks of it, so i'll stop waffling now hehe XD (It probably doesn't even make sense :( )

*Except for this bit.
Greatest moment of my life was when Stitch picked me out of the crowd for a photo because I was wearing my Stitch tshirt :'D

Wonder why the water was turned off at the Santa Fe? Thats a shame about the niggles with your room, not what you need when the parks are busy.

I have walking shoes I bought a few years ago and they only come out to go to DLP, as thats the only time I actually walk distances every day ;). Converse, flat shoes and trainers would just kill my feet after only one day there.

Great about Stitch though :thumbsup2.

The water was off for maintenance work, they left the sign up the whole trip though and i'm sure it was only off for that one day lol.
But the weird thing is, when the water came back on, when you went to use either the shower or the tap in the bath, they would both 'turn on' so you would have water coming from the tap and the shower at the same time :/ it was fine for us though, the shower had broken so you couldn't adjust the height, so we just used it as a tap anyway XD

I'll have to find some better shoes! A lot of people were wearing crocs, maybe i'll try that haha.

:)

Hi. Glad You had a good time :thumbsup2
On the subject of Crocs..... After a course of chemotherapy in 2007 My feet were soooo sensitive & when We went for Our first trip to DLRP after just one day My feet felt awful (which of course was a BIG minus for Me in the most magical place on earth:sad2:)I had taken trainers with Me thinking they would be comfortable & how wrong was I?
Of course We just had to go back  but this time I wore Crocs. What a difference. And now, basically I wear crocs all the time as they are really, really comfortable. I have got some called "Bistro" & they have no holes in them & also have a fantastic non-slip sole, so, great in the rain (despite having no holes My feet don't sweat although I do wear socks with mine)
We have been to DLRP five times now & I have had no problems at all with My feet since that first trip & that is definitely down to crocs:worship:
I LOVE YOU CROCS!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Hope this helps!
Dawn.

Welcome back, shame about the niggles with your room but pleased you enjoyed the trip overall:goodvibes

I find my Nike or Adidas trainers are fine my the walking I do:thumbsup2

Hi,
I'm glad you had a nice time, shame about your feet. My mum suffers terribly with a condition in her heels and could hardly walk by the end of our trip. She has some special insoles for her shoes, i think they are like memory foam and got them from boots I think about £20 :scared1: but worth it. I love my crocs and In the winter i have some great flat boots from Next they are from the heavenly soles collection OMG so comfy (like walking on clouds) and so waterproof i lived in these last year and wore them at disney in November, everybody's feet hurt except mine wooo hoo for the boots. (I know they don't help in the summer, when i live in crocs). but here is the link to them

We were there last week too and agree about the fantastic weather. It started to rain half hour before we left on Thursday.
We stayed in Sante Fe aswell and our only niggle was the water coming out Shower and Tap at same time. We had a ground floor room.

It was our first time and we loved every bit. My little boy was picked from crowds to dance with Characters during OUAD Parade, he was chuffed to bits.

Will do a report soon x

Glad you had a great time :thumbsup2

Shame about your plate, maybe you can find one on ebay ?

I love my Crocs and wear them as much as possin the parks or anywhere were I am on my feet a lot

Poor little boy though (and poor you) some people are really nasty to their children, makes you wonder why they have them :sad2:

Did you go to BBWWS in the end ?

Welcome back :wave2: I was going to suggest ebay too. I wanted to replace my umbrella that I'd bought in DLP a few years ago and when I couldn't find one I liked there in May I turned to ebay and after a few weeks one turned up - brand new and ended up being a fraction of the cost of the original! So good luck with the plate. :thumbsup2

As for shoes, I alternate between Clarks sandals and Athens Crocs (the flipflop ones) with trainers if it rains. I've not tried the other croc styles but the Athens are so comfy.
