Im back!

Loving it - you guys are adorable!

Well dang, I wish you were my uncle. :lmao:

Jeff, you're a pro at these trip reports, great pictures. :thumbsup2

Let me just say I hate my laptop....

Okay...let me wrap this quickie TR up....

On our last full day, I had planned for us to visit Central Park. I've always wanted to visit it and see Frederick Law Olmstead's other creation. Olmstead also designed the grounds at my work, Biltmore Estate in Asheville. (now you guys know!) It was such a cold windy day....I was coming down with something and I was trying to fight it. Anyway....we took the subway. Jon has never been on the subway so I broke him in. And here is all excited....

I think he was little aggraivated at me....heck, I'm not a pro when it comes to the subway system. All I could think about is the time when Tootie ran away to NYC in episode of the Facts of Life.....:lmao:

With it being so dang cold, we decided not to tour CP and no horse and carriage ride.....I wanted to do it so bad but it was just not the perfect time for it. So instead, we went to the Garment District so I can find Mood. Yes, I'm a Project Runway Freak and I wanted to see Mood and pretend I was a "designer." All we needed was Tim Gunn from Bravo......love that show.

"Designers..your next challenge is to make something out of spandex and let Monorailman model it."

After we killed sometime there, we went to Ground Zero. Out of respect, I didn't take any pics. All Im gonna say about our visit is that I cried my eyes out.

We did take the subway back uptown and we went to FAO Swartz and had a ball. I played in the Barbie Dept....had a blast with the interactive stuff they had there. Jon enjoyed the Harry Potter Section with the dragons all around.

I can't recall exactly what was next....

I do remember we went to Olive Garden for dinner. (I know, we should really experienced something else) Right after dinner, it was time....we had a date with....

I've seen many broadway shows. This one tops them all! I will not go in details for some of you may want to see it, but all I gotta say is that I now love the Wicked Witch of the West....she's not a bad person....and for God's sake, let her have her sister's shoes back.....

After the show....we had some more pizza from somewhere on TSq.....and strolled around for a few at night. Here are some pics...

After that, we bought about 20 I love NY tee shirts for $10 to give out as gifts for freinds back home. We headed back to our hotel for we were beat again.

The next day, our transporation guy picked us up at our hotel and took us to Newark to fly back to Carolina. It was a nice smooth ride back and it was great to be back in Carolina........

Thanks for tuning in folks. Stick a fork in me, I'm done.

Peace out!

Okay, it's official. I love you! And I love this trip report!

This little Project Runway moment is AWESOME!:rotfl2:

Scott and I didn't find Mood when we were in NYC, but we made sure to locate Parsons! :rotfl2:

Now where is MonorailMan? I've got his skimpy spandex outfit all ready for him to wear . . .

he looks a bit frightened in the subway :rotfl2: - I rode the subway once - I had the same look!

Glad you loved WICKED - It was an amazing show! Isn't the Gershwin a cool theater?

You should come to Buffalo - Olmstead designed the parks system here. Jon looks terrified in that picture ... either that or it's "what did I let you talk me into?!". Yesterday I was reading your trip report and thinking that I haven't been to NYC in a long time and suddenly a possible trip came up tonight so it was nice coming home and finishing reading your trip report.

Hey Sue! Good to hear from ya....I heard that Buffalo was cool to go visit to, I will have to keep that in mind! :) I think Olmstead's best work is Biltmore...;)

I know, that face! It was way out of his element, all those people going in and out! All those signs, letters, and numbers!

Loved Gershwin! It is a cool theater....I really would love to go back and pay to see it again! *adds coins to the piggy bank*

It takes at least a Doctorate degree to be able to understand the NYC subway map. There are people who have lived there for quite a while who even find it confusing. The Chicago and D.C. lines are a piece of cake in comparison. But when I look at the NYC subway maps I swear I can hear David Bowie start singing the theme from "Labyrinth". :confused3
