Hi all :wave2: I have literally just got home from the magic that is Disney and I am already feeling gutted and sad to be back :sad1:

We both had a really fantastic trip and it was perfect and full of magic from start to finish. The Disneyland Hotel was amazing and stepped up its game big time this week!

Highs:

- Disney Dreams :goodvibes Oh My! It was out of this world! We watched it every night and was mesmorised each and every time! DBF actually cried too!
- Given complimentary VIP Fastpasses for our entire duration as a Disney Birthday Treat
- Room was decorated with balloons for my birthday and had champagne waiting for us on ice :goodvibes
- Meeting Max (Goofy's son)... I am a huge Goof Troop fan so that was one of those things that made my day... TODAY actually! *sigh*
- I had a birthday cake in Inventions and Mickey Mouse and Tigger brought it over to us
- The weather. It really did hold out for us... obviously it poured down with rain on my birthday (why wouldn't it?!), but the rest of the week we did really well!
- FANTASTIC character interaction! We didn't bother with the scrums in the parks (and believe me, there were a lot of them) - but we did manage to catch a lot of characters in the DLH throughout the morning / afternoon and then during our dinners at Inventions and we had so much fun with them.

Lows

- There was a Character Strike on Tuesday evening / Wednesday all day. This basically meant that there were NO characters in the park / resort / Café Mickey (where I was set to have my birthday cake and birthday dinner) / no parades... nothing. I don't know how much has been revealed on here about it all so I won't go into all that, but I completely understand the Character Walk-out and supported it - however, it didn't stop the disappointment when it happened. HOWEVER on a brighter note - this is when the DLH stepped up and it ensured that there were a couple of characters in the lobby in the afternoon and also characters in Inventions for the dinner too.
- The park was PACKED on Thursday and Friday due to Public Holidays in France.
- Two unhelpful Cast Members. One was the hotel concierge in DLH who told us it was IMPOSSIBLE to get reservations for Inventions on Thursday and was rather rude... however we then marched up to Inventions where they told us there were plenty of availabilities for our timeslot and got us a reservation straight away (I did make a complaint about the staff member and it was dealt with really well).
- As it was so packed on Thursday and Friday, park-hopping became a bit of a queuing nightmare. As DBF and I came out of Disney Studios at 11am, there was a HUGE queue for the Disneyland Paris which seemed to go on forever so we decided to enter the park via Salon Mickey using my shareholder card. I politely explained to the lady on the reception desk for Salon Mickey that we don't want to eat or drink in there but would be really grateful if they could allow us to enter the park due to the amount of crowds. I am not kidding you - we were actually SCORNED by the lady (to the point where fingers were waving around) and then she said "on this exceptional occasion, I will allow you to do this today". So we still managed to enter the park via Salon Mickey after all that fuss... and the Cast Member (whose name has been logged) has found her way on my new complaint email :wave2:

All in all - Best. Trip. EVER.

:cheer2:
