Hi.

I just wanted to send a really quick post letting everyone know that my trip to Vegas was great and I had a really good time. I am so glad that I took today off as well, because I am so tired from flying and getting into Chicago at 1130 pm and home at 1230 am.

Remember......."What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas".......

Oh, forget THAT! Details, when you get rested, please!

Linda,

Right now all I have to say is that if you have a chance to see Mamma Mia at Mandalay Bay in Vegas do it. I saw it before on broadway and must say that this show was better than that one because the audience in Vegas was really more into the whole show and really added and extra something to it.

I will make sure to post more later tonight when I'm more with it.

Here is a shortened and cencered verson of my vacation in Vegas.

On my flight over to Vegas on Sunday, I met 3 guys who were going to Vegas for one last time before Jeff gets married in Vegas on Saturday. Jeffs girlfriend/future wife and guests are showing up tomorrow(Friday 1/6) so they had the whole week to party. Anyways they invited me to hang out with them while I was there, and they seemed like nice guys so I did.

So at 10 pm on Sunday we went over to Tabú at MGM Grand. If anyone has been over to Tabú, and maybe it was because of it being New Years day, but this is where the what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas comes into play. Lets just say we met some really nice ladies there and without going into to many details, we all had a great time ;). I knew I had a bunch of different drinks during the night but couldn't remember all the names. Apparently we had played some sort of drinking game, because when I was unpacking I found a list of everything I drank and how many times. Now how I ended up with the list is beyond me, but I guess I was the one keeping score and yes I lost to Jeff by 3 drinks. The list shows I drank the following:

3 Mimosas
1 Kamikazes
1 Pearl Harbors
1 Tequilla Sunrises
1 Honolulu Hammers
2 Screw Drivers
1 Odeon Casino

By the time we got back to my room (yes I said we as in :earsboy: and :earsgirl: ) it was 5 am Monday morning and to say we were a little toasted would be an understatement. A couple hours later and with the help of some advil, Jennifer and I were ready to go. For the rest of Monday the 8 of us just basically hit some of the other hotels, drank and played in the casinos into the we hours of Tuesday.

On Tuesday Jennifer and I mostly took in the the Las vegas sites by ourselves and that evening the two of us went over to Mandalay Bay, had dinner at the House of Blues Restaurant and saw Mamma Mia. Afterwords we met up with the rest of group for one last party before we both headed back to our own rooms to pack and get ready to leave on Wednesday. Jennifer and her 3 friends had an early Wednesday morning flight back to St. Paul and I had an evening flight back to Chicago and yes I did see them off in the morning.

Wednesday, I mostly did a little shopping until I had to leave for the airport and that is about it.

Now I did leave out alot of the juicy details of what actually happened at Tabú and what happened afterwords, but since this is a family board, I'm sure you can figure that out on your own :teeth: .

I'm getting a headache just reading all the drinks you had that night. I hope I don't wake up with a hangover. :teeth:

What happened in Vegas should stay in Vegas!

Sounds like you had a good time. ;)

escape,

Like I said, I drank all of that and lost the contest. The cool thing is that Jeff and his bunch (and new wife) along with Jennifer and two of her friends are suppose to come back to Vegas for the Super Bowl, so I'm going to try and see if I can make it out there for that.

So am I bad to want to know more about Tabu? I'm not trying to be nosey about what all you did but now I want to know exactly what this place is all about. If you feel like sharing feel free to PM me or IM me.

Glad you had a great time! Which of the drinks did you enjoy for me? :flower:

Now I am being nosey. Is Jennifer someone you met there? All my friends are not on-line at the moment or in bed so I'm bored and feel like being nosey tonight. :flower:

chell,

Your not being nosey at all. Jennifer is someone I met at Tabú and we had alot of fun during my trip. I liked the Mimosas and the Kamikaze the best and I can guarantee you that I had more than one drink for you :). As far as what Tabú is like, here is a link to the website:

Thanks Jason! I was afraid to do a search - I was afraid what else I might come up with. ;)

chell,

All I can say is that when they say on there site, "anything can happen...and probably will", it is very true :).

Wonder if a trip to Vegas would make me feel better then?

chell,

It is really a very reasonable place to stay and enjoy. I'm planning to go back during superbowl weekend Feb 4-7 and it's only going to be around $450 total for the 3 nights at Treasure Island.

You would probably have a better time going with someone who has been there before since it would be your first trip.

After letting myself have fun and not worry about anything, I am a new person because of it and probably for the better. I was always worried about what other people would think, instead of being myself and let the cards fall where they may. This trip really opened me up and I have Jeff and his friends and Jennifer to thank for it.

I know that you have had some rough times lately, but this could be just what your looking for. A place where everyone goes just to have a good time and to let your hair down for a while. Even if you can get away from everything for just 3 or 4 days, you will comeback feeling much better.

As much as I like visiting Disney, Vegas for me is like home away from home.
I have been going to Vegas regularly since my fist solo trip in 95.
I have agree with Jason about it being a place just to let go and be who ever you want to be. I too have my own stories ;) :teeth:

And Vegas is not all about gambling. Death Valley is 3 hours away....waaaay cool place. So is Zion National Park( my fav national park).

One thing Vegas is not in my opinion is a family place. Vegas for the past few years has been returning to its roots...gambling and sex. Bally's hotel has huge sign out front that shows a womans rear end with only a thin thong. Huge mobile billboards travel up and down the strip advertising escorts to your room in 30 min..lol Each of the hotels have brought back topless shows.

I plan on getting back sometime this spring.

Shutterbug,

I noticed that it does seem to be going back to the way Vegas use to be before they tried to make it Walt Disney Vegas.

This is the first time I have gone and just let myself be me and look what happened, I had the best trip of my life and met some really good friends and a really nice and beautiful young lady.

Welcome back, Jason! Glad to hear you had such a memorable trip! ;)

Rootskate,

Thanks. The nice thing is that I came back and only have to work today and then have the weekend to get my sleeping pattern back on track and back into the work mode.

I can say that without a doubt, this was my best vacation ever and I was only there 4 days/3 nights.

Hi.

I just wanted to give you a little update on this. Due to some work related issues for both Jennifer and I, we won't be in Vegas for the Superbowl. However, we have both cleared our calanders for Feb 11-14 in Vegas which just happens to be Valentines Day. Now I need to start planning the perfect Valentines weekend trip for us.
