...and it was a bit of a mixed bag really.

I'll not ruin the trip report too much by giving everything away here but we had some small problems and one major one that I'm not happy about and will complain if I'm proven right.

I'm pleased to have done Christmas but not sure that I'd rush to do it again...I didn't think it was as good as Halloween.

Uncle Matty was really ill on Saturday night so Matty, Mum and Dad all left early Sunday morning so lost the day in the park.

I'm 99.9% sure that the CM at guest relations lied to me by saying that the 13th was a Fantasy Blackout day meaning that Matty, Mum and Dad had to spend an extra £50 each on Dream passes. If anyone can help with a working link to the blackout days that would be great as I'll be compalining if they were mis-sold to us.

Breakfast at the DCR was ok but we seemed to be on the 'can't care' trail whereby breakfast was served from whenever they wanted rather than from 7:30am.

Saturday was rammed...I knew it would be but people just get stupid when it's that busy...I had a grown woman of 30 years old push Kacee to the floor and then trample on him so that she could get to Mickey first...and then turn round and say that she has to push otherwise she wouldn't get anywhere!!!

I'm thinking of calling my trip report 'The Trip where Disney Lost the Magic' but maybe I'll feel better after bedtime.

For a start, I would kill the woman who trampled Kacee, nobody has any excuse to do that to anyone, let alone a small child.

 It wasn't all you hoped. I really hope you had some good moments too.

Oh no :scared1: Don't like the sound of your trip.

Sounds like there were some staff shortages at DCR. We know to go to another trail if the hut is not open by 7.30am but have seen many guests standing annoyed waiting for the hut to open :confused3

Hoping that there are more highs than lows :goodvibes

Oh no, sorry to hear that the trip didn't go as well as expected. As the others have said, hopefully, the good moments outweigh the bad ones.

I googled for you and the only website which came up with the dates was the DLRP website in French. I don't speak/read (much) French but from what I can suss out according to this, I think that the CM might have been telling porkies!!
http://offres.disneylandparis.fr/passeport-annuel/non-adherents/fantasy/index.xhtml#contentj (click on the 'jours de restriction' tab)

And  :scared1: at that woman who trampled on Kacee. Hope he's ok though and not been scarred by that experience.

This is what I got of the official site - the only blackout days between Nov 8 2008 and April 2009

Your Passport Annual Fantasy is valid all year, except for days following restrictions:
(Days restriction for a valid passport Annual final agreed between 8 November 2008 to 3 April 2009 inclusive)

Disneyland ® Park and Walt Disney Studios ®

2008:
from 26 to 30 December inclusive

So sounds like a bit of wrong info there :confused3

I cant believe someone pushed Kacee over :scared1: Hope your trip seems a big more magical after a good night sleep

Sorry missed the comment about Fantasy blackout.
I have the ticket that came with DD's Fantasy AP. Dates are 26 - 31st Oct, 26 - 30 Dec.
I will scan at work tomomorrow. Happy to PM you link so that you can take this up with DLP :)

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your little one getting pushed out of the way:mad:
Especially by a grown woman

This is the one thing that really gets my goat:headache:

I mean I enjoy DLP every time we go, but this happened to my DS who is 3 when we went in Nov and I now and will always stay away from the characters where it is a free for all to try and get to them for a photo or a autograph. I can honestly say that it has never happened to my DS at WDW the 3 times that he has been as all the characters have a cast member with them and you have to queue to see them, no pushing or shoving whatsoever:)

Just don't understand why DLRP does not have this policy there, cause one day a child is going to be seriously hurt.

Hope your little one was ok

the people pushing etc is what annoyed me on out trip , it was our 1st trip too

we had stood for nearly an hr waiting on the parades , and then people push in front , making up excuses like ooo my child lost this , etc and we had to look for it

tough , not my fault , i soon told them to go take a hike lol

me too!

wont clutter your thread with it,will start my own once i have deposited small child to school!

grrrr @ that woman ,similar happened to us ( for the first time :( )

xx

That would be brilliant thanks Reid.

I'm not normally one to complain too much but it cost us an extra £150 because of the mis-information she gave us and I asked her four times to check and every time she said she was right and I was wrong.

Sorry about your bad experiences on the trip, unfortunately you've described exactly the same behaviour as we witnessed/experienced last Christmas season and it's really not nice. :sad2:
How unprofessional that you were given the wrong info. on the passes, did you get the CM's name, sounds like some recompence is in order.

I am sorry to hear how that turned out. We had this situation with my brothers about 12 years ago and my parents have vowed to never go back. We have learned to not bother unless it is a character meal, a queing situation, it is quiet or at a hotel. Personally I am not interested in the characters (except when we met Jack and Sally) and my kids can take them or leave them. But people can be animals at DLP. We have learnt coping strategies (1st breakfast at opening, table service dining, character rules as above, and either upscale hotel or off site. Using these rules makes the experience much more pleasurable.

As for the AP issue, definately fight that one.

I agree though, Halloween is much more interesting, but I am a goth, so I would say that!

Sorry to hear about the bad behaviour. There's no excuse for it at all, in fact another word for it is assault if you think about it. Some people just seem to go a bit mad. When you complain about the Fantasy passes make sure you complain about that too since the more complaints they have the more likely they are to introduce more of a character system.

after seein ur facebook, i came to find out more on here....

really hope that u get complaining - sounds like u are def right about the pass, and that is so not on............

as for kacee - hope he as ok, and i too find that behaviour unacceptable AND we had a similar thing happen to us - except it was a lady from another country and she told me that i was not ALLOWED to queue, as i was an adult, and i was pushing her child - the child in question was about 13yr, and had already tried to queue jump around the outside til a cm told her to queue, and then was trying to push past me so i stopped her..... and as for an adult - yes i was, but i had ds2 in my arms and that was to stop him being shoved over again (which he had been for lilo earlier) so i gave her a piece of my mind ;) and a nice choice word in her language!!!!

we didnt have much problem, as mainly dh queued for the boys, or on a couple of occassions we used ds2s easy pass (espec after he had been pushed)..... but it still annoys me, saw plenty of bad behaviour, from all nationalilities - inc uk (teenagers the biggest prob)....

i enjoyed our trip - but still enjoyed all the halloween reports and wud love to go then - but wud be school holidays so not so sure - will no doubt post quest about that again!!!

look forward to ur report and hope that there was some magic for u at disney........

 I hope Kacee is ok John, If that had happened to Kyra i probably would of ended up banned from DLP for life.

I don't see why some people have to ruin it for everyone else, have they never heard of queues :confused3

I hope your brother is feeling better soon

Look forward to reading your TR.

Hope you had some good times though:goodvibes

sorry to hear about the bad:sad1:

oh no, thats awful! your poor little one... I would have gone mad! We didnt have a problem with seeing charecters... mostly the cm's standing with them.. tended to say.. this one next etc..so it was ok... though to be honest.. they came up to ben for pics most the time, so we were really lucky.
looking forward to hearing more! hope you still had a magical experience, must be hard coming on here and feeling bit negative.. not what you want to say after a well dreampt after holiday!! hope your little one, had a great time! looking forward to trip report

Welcome back....

OMG at your son getting pushed over, disgraceful
