Hi guys,

It's been a while........

Our last trip was in August 2013. Due to a house move and tricky times with our business we didn't travel last year.

I have been watching flight prices with VA for July/August 2015, I still don't feel brave enough to do indirect, I always said it was due to having young children but now they are 11 & 8 I'll have to dream up a new reason!

So I finally bit the bullet last night and booked 2 PE reward seats and 2 PE M&M seats, MAN to MCO, used up all my miles and paid just over £3k. I'm not overly impressed with the price but reward dates appeared that suited so I booked and will not check the prices again!!! I'm quite sure there will be a reward seat sale or a dip in PE prices but I just wanted it sorted!

I need to get our travel insurance in place, any recommendations please?

Also the cost of car hire seems quite a lot more than in 2013 - I would prefer to leave it for a month or two before booking but is this too short notice? Who are the best companies to go with at the mo?

I feel like a newbie all over again :scared1:

It's nice to be back :goodvibes

Glad all ok for you and you can get back to your happy place:thumbsup2
We're also going August 2015 and have got a great quote from Virgin atlantic on an SUV. Travel insurance wise we'll either use Atlas or Chubb as both will pay up front for emergency healthcare (no lengthy back claims) and offer a good package for a good price. Happy planning:wave2:

Happy planning :cool1:

Price seems good to me for premium and school hols.

We use the insurance with out nationwide account so can't help ther.

Usually look at usrentacar for cars although in Oct we used alamo Brits as they were cheaper.

How exciting, I always think it feels more real when you book flights! We are also going end August 2015, can't wait! Hope you have a wonderful trip. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the replies :goodvibes

I had a quick look at car hire prices last night and was surprised to find that Alamo through Virgin was the cheapest! I haven't done a lot of research yet as I don't want to book just yet so we'll see.....

Thanks again.

Ali.
