As I'm reading through posts I'm recognizing A LOT of names. Nice to see everyone again!

After my Dad and son trip years ago, I had one other solo trip for work. It was two years ago during Christmas which was wonderful. I got to spend some time with one of my favorite Diva's. It was only one day so not long enough but are they ever??

For years I've dreamed of being at DL on my birthday, especially my 40th that I'm dreading. I don't do the getting older thing well. :) I figured it has to be easier at DL though right? So add that to it's Christmas and what a better gift to give my son who is now 11 than a trip to Disney right? He has no clue but will be suprising him Christmas morning. When he was little we used to make countdown chains. We are thinking about making one and wrapping it in a box to open. I think he will definitely know what it is for.

So we haven't booked a hotel yet. We are between Park Vue, and Carousel Inn. I can't believe how much prices have gone up since we last went. HOLY COW!!! We've stayed at Park Vue and you obviously can't beat the location. The remodel looks nice. I've always wanted to stay at Carousel but it was always too much. We normally stay at Hojo on the Dis discount but wow their rates sure went up. Is there still a dis board discount?

Anyway, glad to be back and planning another Disney trip. :cool1: I can't wait to post this just to see what my oh so outdated signature looks like LOL

So a few questions....

In the last couple of hours we're trying to see if we can squeeze in an extra day so leaving the 3rd and home on the 4th.

Rates are a pretty big difference for one extra day. Which is better, Carousel Inn or Park Vue? First we were leaning towards Park Vue, but now Carousel seems to be cheaper.

Also, any tips or tricks for Cars land? It's our first time since it's been completed.

I don't know about Park Vue personally, but there were so many negative experiences posted about it in the past year that I doubt I'd want to stay there. I've stayed at Carousel and thought it was great. I know there will always be a negative posted here and there, but the things said about Park Vue made me very nervous, especially as it was pretty universally stated that their management did absolutely nothing to assist. There were billing issues, dirt issues, and several reports of bed bugs. All of those problems can happen, but the number of complaints and the fact that nothing was done about it made me not want to try it. The people who posted were board regulars whose reports I trust to be accurate, too.

Oops!! ETA that I forgot to say hello and welcome back!! Hope you have a great trip! I know the prices are so different now that it's a bit shocking, but hey! It's going to be a lot of fun and a great way to ring in the big 4-0 :)

We stayed at carousel inn our last trip in October. It was ok, clean room but unbelievably small! It was me, husband, and our 9 month old and we didn't have much room to move around. We just had a standard 2 queen room.

I think we decided on Park Vue just because of the breakfast. It's $60 more but for 5 breakfasts it's worth it, we'll be saving money in the long run.

As of yesterday we added a night and sounds like we are going to get our AP's back! I think it's time to start a trip report. :cool1:
