Check out Chip'n Dale Express' Groovy new POP FAQ for our early experiences and observations. I can try to answer questions.

It's all over the place. They say high of 70, but it doesn't feel quite that warm. We were in long sleeve T'S yesterday...initially we were a little warm, but by night we were cold with a sweatshirt on top. Today we were in short sleeves, but by dinner we needed long sleeves or sweatshirt. Expected to be colder tomorrow.

Did you go to a park today? We're thinking of going this weekend next year and wondered how bad it would be today for crowds. If we don't make it to MVMCP, we'd probably have to go to MK on a Saturday, and it sounds like that wouldn't be pretty. Did you do MVMCP and have a problem with crowds that people seem to be reporting?

Thanks & hope you're having a great time!!

How was your check-in experience? With so many negative comments, and my own bad experience this past October, I am a little worried for my trip in May.

the dial-up internet access is soooooo sloooooooow. It makes the DIS much less enjoyable!

It's only the internet. If you want faster then you will have to pay the extra price to stay in a Disney resort that has it.

Oh and if you find your internet access is making Disney less enjoyable then maybe your priorities are in the wrong place. Leave the computers at home unless to check e-mail and go enjoy the happiest place on earth. Your at Disney after all.

Are you a Packer fan?

Yes, we went to the MK today just after 4pm with only our MVMCP tickets. Getting in was smooth.

We saw Stitch with only a 5 minute wait right after we entered. It was not nearly as scary as I expected. I had seen the old Alien Encounter...that was scary! I laughed while I watched Stitches Great Escape. My DD's 8 and 12 were both scared going in, they're both afraid of the dark, one is afraid of just about everything. Neither had done Alien Encounter. The tip from a previous poster about placing a closed fist on your shoulders to give you more room was a good one. Simply sitting up tall and straight works great too!

Our goal for MVMCP was to do the shows that we would not otherwise get to see. I went to this final night expecting maximum capacity based on what I was reading on this site. I was pleasantly surprised. In addition to our PS at LTT we did the family photo, saw Belle's Enchanted Christmas (virtually same as daytime version), T'was the Night before Christmas (Excellent), Celebrate the Season (Excellent), Fireworks (Excellent), and MVMCP (Excellent). We chose to skip the Lake Howell Brass Band and Fantasyland Holiday Hop. The hot cocoa was good and cookies were just okay. We also managed short waits for Transit Authority ride, Space Mountain (3 times), Buzz (twice). I would not let the fact that your chosen party night is a sellout stop you from attending. It was a fantastic start to our holiday vacation...even with a sick DD8.

Next day, DH went to Epcot for his Segway tour (which he said was fantastic). However, he said Epcot was packed. We girls slept in and went to AK in the afternoon. Park was not overcrowded.

Went to Epcot today. DH said it was not busy compared with yesterday. Short lines in am, but seemed to get longer as day went on. We left at dinner time as DD12 was now sick. I don't think it is because of Mission Space. We'll know more tomorrow.

I think the week before Christmas is best time to go especially when combined with week of Christmas.

I posted on the Groovy POP Century FAQ yesterday, but I'll try and recap here. To start with our check-in experience couldn't have gone better. We landed about 12:10. FL tours was waiting for us at baggage. We got our 20 minute grocery stop at Publix (great store). Pop CM's immediately greeted us at the curb and had much of our luggage on their cart before I got out of the car. They took our groceries and all. They said they would refrigerate them for us until our room was ready. We were first in line to check in. Had great CM. She was pleasant and not rushed. She welcomed my request for building, floor etc. She offered me several rooms that were currently ready for immediate occupancy. She took the time to find out which rooms might have fireworks view. We had requested Fridge with CRO, but it was not noted now. She took care of it. Our luggage beat us to our room by a hair. The fridge showed up 15 minutes later. We were pleased with our main floor corner room. Nice and quiet. They only thing that could hav been better would have been directly behind us with Epcot fireworks view, but immediate occupancy was more important to us. We had to get ready for MVMCP and LTT PS. Every CM we came into contact with was attentive and friendly!

We did notice a long line for check-in about 3pm.

We chose POP because it was new and a value. We will be splitting our stay with PO-R. I am on vacation; I wouldn't consider making a resort choice based on it's internet access.

This slooooow internet access is making "the DIS" much less enjoyable not Disney. I simply thought I might promptly share some of our experiences with fellow DISers just as they have been doing for me over the last year. I actually find your reply the most negative experience I've had while at WDW. Thought it would be helpful to respond to fellow DISers while my sick DD is sleeping.

I do like the food court set-up and access for our family, but you have to remember that the food is average food court type food. Not bad and not great. We've had their dinner choices twice. We've had the pasta, chicken strips, chili, philly cheesesteak wrap, sloppy joe and personal pizza. Of these, the pizza was the worst. The very bottom of the crust was very tough. It's better if you reheat it in their microwave. Again, the Cm's here are friendly and cheerful. They even gather together for some kind of sing-a-long and dance periodically. The song escapes me at the moment. It just adds to the fun light-hearted atmosphere here.

You do hear an occassional toilet flush or shower running, but it's not a big deal. Just like you hear an occassional kid running down a hall or walkway. We are in an end corner room; maybe it's better here. It's not bothering us.

That was most hateful, not to mention uncalled for!! Perhaps you need to bury yourself in a landfill of pixie dust.

Wow. northern michigan, I sure hope that the teeth and claw marks don't leave scars. Hope your baby feels better.

How are you about sleeping? Are you a light sleeper or can you get comfy anywhere? I am staying at Pop in June and I am very concerned about uncomfortable beds and noises from other rooms.

I am a light sleeper and am not comfortable in just any bed. The beds and pillows are comfortable. Unfortunately, after a late night at MVMCP and sick DD8, I didn't sleep well that night. No fault of POP tho. Last night had a great night's sleep.
I have also heard their luggage carts on the sidewalks at night, but I'm sure that's the same at all WDW resorts.

Thank you so very much for the speedy reply.

Just returned from 5 nights at POP and wanted to add my two cents...

RE: Beds
I had heard so much negative feedback about the beds, I was prepared for the worst. I was pleasantly surprised. I slept like a baby! I didn't think the beds were as hard as others thought.

RE: Food Court
The variety of food is good. However, we were there two nights in a row at dinner time and they didn't have enough chicken or pasta ready. One night, we waited 15 minutes for chicken. Of course, we could have gotten something else, but we chose to wait. When we did finally get it, it was yummy! On the last night, I had salmon and rice. It was very good. I believe the song the employees danced to was The Hustle.

RE: Toliets
Never heard another toliet the entire time. Didn't think they were that loud either. We closed the lid before flushing and that helped.

Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would stay again!
