says my son, 7, before he climbed up onto the arm of the chair and jumped off yesterday. Please allow me this moment of pride in his vocabulary. This is the same child who was suspended due to behavior and is being tested in the coming weeks for learning disabilities.
And my 17 year old, at 11:50 last night opens our door and says, "Dad, Mom, San Francisco is exploding!" Of course I had to get up and look online only to see he was overreacting a bit. He says he read it wrong and thought a neighborhood AND an airport exploded, not a neighborhood NEAR an airport.
Sometimes I wonder what my life without children would be like...calm? Serene? Restful? Boring?
(That last bit was said tongue-in-cheek. No, Ann Landers, I do not, ever, regret having my children.)
