I was so thrilled when John announced that 3.0 would be in the summer and then he said June 24, 2012.

I work in NYC and our school calendar goes through June 28, 2012.

I can't stand it. I just cannot take four days off.

I just talked to my husband about this and we would LOVE to do it. I am a teacher in New York and I'm not sure that we will be done with school. We've been going up to the very end of June. Hmmmmm.....somehow I have to see next year's calandar and administration doesn't usually let us know until near the end of the current school year.
But I want to hold my spot on this cruise SO BADLY!!!!!!!!

We are in the same boat! There's no way to take off the last 4 days without facing serious repercussions at work the next year (if you get a "next year"). We don't even like taking any day in June, if we can help it.

I do appreciate Dreams taking teachers' schedules into consideration! NYC is just a special case! If the dates were 1 week later (though I understand why they're not) we would have been signed up already!

Yup, us too. It's not just NYC, though. When I lived in Jersey, we went to school through the end of June every year. Same deal for a lot of the tri-state area.

Did you see the couple who took a couple of days for their wedding, posted some pictures on you tube and were in deep with the DOE?

I also love the fact that Dreams Unlimited are trying to address the needs of teachers and parents with children. Thank you Dreams Unlimited.

Even though I cannot take advantage of this current opportunity, I'm sure that there are a lot of people out there that can and will jump at the chance to cruise with the podcast crew.

No, I didn't see that, but I do know several people who have started vacations early. It never turns out well!

I am ok sitting this trip out. I know Pete and the Dreams crew are not going to forget us in NY! If I can't go on this one, I'll get on one another time! I'll just console myself with the fact that we are going on the Backstage Magic trip with the podcast and Marty Sklar in July.

Our last day is usually June 28 and you are expected to come in.

In the past the following scenario has occurred. When that day fell on a Monday we have had the students last day be on Friday and we have had to come back on Monday. So teachers were made to come back with all the rooms packed and no students to teach. Gotta love the DOE.
