As of yesterday, I have been let go from a job that I've been at for a little over 10 years. I've never been let go from anything so this is tough to deal with. I guess I should have seen this coming. Sales are down and cut backs were coming at us from just about every angle. That should have been a sign to look elsewhere for a new job or even a new career. Ah, well! I could use the time off to catch up on stuff around the house. But, I tell you...I could get use to this! hahaha.... :rotfl2:

Anyways, I'm not asking for prayers or pixie dust...I just needed to vent my disappointment...

Have a great day everyone...

Sorry to hear about your job loss. I'm sure it's very hard to change so quickly. But I'll bet that you will really enjoy taking care of the household and see that it is a lot more than you thought.

Take the time and enjoy it before you rush into another job. Best wishes~~

Welcome to the club! My husband is a WAHD and he loves it. :) I'm a SAHM with an Ebay hobby. Maybe you could look into some type of work from home if you really enjoy staying home in the day instead of going in to work.

Chereya :)

good luck---

could always work out of the house---

Best wishes to whatever you decide and where ever your roads take you :)

Thanks everyone for your encouragement and suggestions! I'm sure I'll be fine. I'll just have to be patient and see what lies ahead for me...

My DH has been a SAHD for over 15 years now. If I were his boss, evluating his performance, he'd get a C- or D. If you'd like any tips on how to make your working wife happy, just ask me.

Two tips:

1. Make the bed!

2. Don't call her when she's driving home from work and ask her what's for dinner!!!!!!

So what's for dinner? :rotfl:
hahaha... Since I've been home, I've been making dinner....rotisserie chicken and spaghetti & meatballs(from scratch). Tonight is pork chops. I'll check out Foodnetwork for some recipe ideas. Want to come over?

Thanks for the tips! Actually, I'm an anal neat-freak. So, making the bed, cleaning the house(especially the kitchen), and finishing projects around the house is not a problem for me. However, I will have to adjust to not asking her what's for dinner! :rotfl2:

I think I'm serious when I say I can get use to this! hahahaha...

I saw this thread and first thing that went through my mind:

http://search.music.yahoo.com/search/?m=all&p=mr+mom&x=191&y=-3 : (click the link, scroll down a little and the yahoo music video is there).

Lost my job, came home mad
Got a hug and kiss and that's too bad
She said I can go to work until you find another job
I thought I like the sound of that
Watch TV and take long naps
Go from a hand working dad to being Mr. Mom

Well
Pampers melt in a Maytag dryer
Crayons go up one drawer higher
Rewind Barney for the fifteenth time
Breakfast, six naps at nine
There's bubble gum in the baby's hair
Sweet potatoes in my lazy chair
Been crazy all day long and it's only Monday
Mr. Mom

Football, soccer and ballet
Squeeze in Scouts and PTA
And there's that shopping list she left
That's seven pages long
How much smoke can one stove make
The kids won't eat my charcoal cake
It's more than any maid can take
Being Mr. Mom

Well
Pampers melt in a Maytag dryer
Crayons go up one drawer higher
Rewind Barney for the sixteenth time
Breakfast, six naps at nine
There's bubble gum in the baby's hair
Sweet potatoes in my lazy chair
Been crazy all day long and it's only Monday
Mr.Mom

Before I fall in bed tonight
If the dog didn't eat the classifieds
I'm gonna look just one more time

'Cause
Pampers melt in a Maytag dryer
Crayons go up one drawer higher
Rewind Barney for the eighteenth time
Breakfast, six naps at nine
There's bubble gum in the baby's hair
Sweet potatoes in my lazy chair
Been crazy all day long
Oh been crazy all day long and it's only Monday
Mr.Mom

Balancin' checkbooks, juggling bills
Thought there was nothing to it
Baby, now I know how you feel
What I don't know is how you do it
