ok - so when i'm down at WDW in December for a romantic night i'm planning to take my girlfriend to JIKO then a carriage ride at FW. But one thing keeps bugging me (ok two) First everything i've seen says you can bring your own drinks on the carriage ride and i figured ok cool - but where would i pick up a bottle of champaign or wine - do you think they would supply it - or should i just grab it real quick at Animal Kingdom Lodge on the way out - see i don't want it to get warm.

Also how long should i budget to drive from AKL to FW - i know it's about 10 - 15 minutes. But what about after i get to FW - i don't think you can drive your car all the way to Pioneer Hall to pick up the carriage rides. So how long does it take to get from the parking lot to the main hall. In fact i don't even know how you would go about doing that. - thanks guys.

That is SO romantic!!!!

OK, first off you will definetely need to keep the wine or champagne cool somehow...UNLESS you are willing to go with red wine  Maybe a nice merlot or Shiraz, they are served at room temperature. Other than that you will want to find a way to keep the bottle cold (however if its a nice cool evening in December RED wine is the way to go)

After you get to FW, you will have to park your car and walk over to the little bus depot, the bus will take you up to pioneer hall (but stops everywhere along the way) so this can take a good 10-15 minutes or so depending on how many people are on the stops.

Have you though about perhaps the carriage ride at Port Orleans, its a very nice carriage ride all through the grounds and takes you over to POFQ a little bit too I think, at nite VERY romantic! And there you can just park your car and walk right over to where they do that within 5 minutes! Just a thought!

What a lucky girl to have such a romantic like you.. I wish I was her!!!!!!!!!!!

they might have wine tasting at Jikos. then you could do the tasting with dinner and ask to buy a bottle to go!

lol, you could offer her a bottle of boons farm and she would prob be just as pleased that you thought of doing something just for her!! lucky girl!

if you are driving over, can't you leave a bottle in the trunk of the car in a cooler of ice?

I always bring our favortie bottle of champange with us on special trips. I like the idea of parking it in your cooler. How bout picking up a nice champange bucket. Are'nt your proposing to your girlfriend? I can't remember if that was you or someone else. Anyways you could go to a department store and pick up something and maybe get a nice badge engraved with your names and the date on it for a memory piece. Put that in your trunk with some nice glasses wrapped inside the bucket. Once you park at FW have her wait just a moment you step out grab your champange, bucket and glasses grab a few handfuls of the ice to keep it chilled and off you go! Have a lovely time.

OR...what about a romantic night at Wilderness Lodge...I just love the food at Artist Point and I have already heard that they will be having the Sleigh rides from the Lodge through Ft. Wilderness this December. You could then order your wine from the Lodge.

This is the information from last year:
