I'm 37 and enjoyed the books and enjoyed New Moon.
I thought Jacob looked good and I was surprised he was so young. I hadn't realized until this thread that he was Sharkboy.
I think its fine to look at somebody too young and think they look good, it doesn't have to mean you want them sexually.

I went with a group of women in their 30's to see the money, and it was hilarious how all the young girls ooh'd and ahhh'd when Jacob took his shirt off, and then all the grownups laughed.

And while I really enjoyed the books, I enjoy them as fantasy and not reality, and when my DD's get a little older and want to read them, I'll let them, but there will be some discussion about them not being at all realistic.
Bella is way too obsessed with Edward, she's not a role model.

Oh man seriously. DH used to watch me sleep - he used to only seem to need about 3 hours of sleep - and it was creepy enough waking up to him staring at me, let alone a vampire...

I don't think I was attracted to seventeen year old boys even when I was seventeen. And I don't find him attractive at all, though he may be very nice.

In my day 17 yr old boys did not look like Jacob Black!!! I'm with you OP I am 33 and totally crushing on him(although I am and forever will be Team Edward!!!!)

I don't find the Twilight mom thing creepy at all. I don't think any of them want to be with these boys as themselves . It's actually about them wanting to be Bella (or at least Bella's age). that's part of the fantasy! I think if they were reading a story about a 35 yr old woman and a 17 yr old vampire they would be creeped out as well. They are trying to reclaim their youth and live vicariously through Bella. Or at least I think

I have the opposite issue!
I don't find Taylor attractive at all and he is my age. I however am extremely attracted to Robert Pattinson (Edward) who is in his 20's! I can never catch a break.

Im 37 and I was definately one of the Twilight moms totally swooning at the movie when he takes his shirt off.

My best friend operates the movie theater where I live and I told her to make sure wherever I sat she better make sure theres a towel in the floor in front of me because I'll be drooling all over the place, along with my aunts and cousins and other anxious female friends. That was a fun evening.

Age? Well as far as I can think he's a fantasy and I'll never ever see him in real life so I can dream all I want to.
