I know a post was just added about this, but I had a few questions.

On Debs site some one states that they had smoke in there face..Is this going to happen??

What time should I ask for the cruise, Illumnations starts at 9pm so does 830 sound good?
Where do I go to get on the boat?
Thanks a bunch.. I just might try for it for our Oct trip..

I just booked an Illuminations Cruise and was given the following info:

All cruisers must be at the marina by 8:15pm. The pontoon boats leave from the Yacht Club OR Boardwalk Marina's. You do not have a choice on location, they will tell you what is avail.

HTH!

If you tell them you want the Illuminations/Specialty cruise, they'll tell you when to board. They will also tell you where.

Kungaloosh and Good Luck!
Mort.

SMOKE: it's the luck of the draw. Can predict what way the wind will blow. It could be slight, severe or none. I would NOT shy away from a cruise just because of this possibility.

TIME: anytime after 8pm is good. Boats leave anywhere from 8:15 to 8:30. The very, very latest a boat can depart would be 8:45, but this would require a straight run to Epcot.

WHERE: most of the boats are issued out of Bayside Marina, in fact, only one boat is scheduled from BoardWalk. It is a lot easier to meet at Bayside Marina, since this is where the driver can print a receipt for payment and properly size all children with life jackets. After the fireworks, the driver can drop you off at Epcot, MGM, BoardWalk or back to Bayside Marina.

Is Bayside marina by the Yacht Club?? And if you get the Boardwalk one are you saying that they cannot fit the childrens life jackets or print out a receipt?!

Bayside Marina is at the yacht Club.
The one boat assigned from BoardWalk can supply jackets and reciept. But when you instruct a pontoon from Bayside to come pick up at BoardWalk, they pretty much have to guess what size jackets to bring.

ALL children 12 and under must wear life jackets regardless of which boat they are on.

So Mike....You seem to be pretty knowledgeble about these cruises so I'll ask you....if we are taking the cruise out of Yacht Club, and we are staying at the Polynesian, are you saying that we can ask the pilot to stop someplace else, before we return to YC Marina? If this is true, what would be the best place to stop for the shortest route to the monorail? I'm thinking that if we could get off at the beginning of WS at Int'l Gateway (if possible) this might make a nice walk back thru Epcot. Or would MGM be better? Thanks for any insights.

Yes, you are correct on two counts, you can ask the pilot to stop at any dock, and I am quite knowledgeable about these cruises <G>

To return to the Poly after the cruise. There are a couple of choices, depending on how long you want to be traveling.

1. Drop off at the Epcot dock, walk all the way from UK to the front of the park to catch the monorail. Downside: long walk, will be crowded at monorail station.

2. Drop off at MGM dock, walk around to buses. Downside: how late is MGM open that night? Depending, may be crowded, may be closed already.

3. Take bus from Yacht Club. Downside: long route, most likely will be directed to Downtown Disney first, to catch another bus from there. Long time.

4. Taxi from Yacht Club. Downside: a few $$$.

My first choice would be the taxi if I wanted to get back to my room quickly and without stress. Second choice, MGM if the timing was right.

Another option might be to catch the MK bus from the Y/B Club and ride the monorail to the Poly. Again, it will depend on MK's hours.
