If I book a reservation at Rose and Crown at 7:50pm, would I be able to view the 9pm illuminations show from there? How is the viewing from Rose and Crown?

I like Rose and Crown but usually I just do the CS because there are so many other choices. However, I'll be going to Disney from Feb. 5-12 and my BF has never seen Illuminations so I would like to get a good viewing without having to stake out a spot way in advance of the show. Do I really need to be concerned about finding a spot to watch it when the crowd calendar currently shows the crowd levels to be a 3?

i have heard that that is a great spot to view the fireworks if you request a table on the patio that can view the fireworks... so much so that you have a 1hr limit from the time they find you a table to accept a table. If they can't find you a table with a fireworks view in that 1 hr then you would have to take whichever table is offered you.

But... I have no experience. Hopefully someone else can chime in and say...

We have a 7:45 ADR at Rose & Crown. From what I have been told if you have a reservation from about 7:30 on, you should be able to stay for illuminations from the restaurant, assuming you are in no hurry. When you check in at the podium ask for a water view table and be willing to wait. This does not at all guarantee a water view table. However, the Rose & Crown has a private viewing area for guests dining there. So when the show starts you may go to that area to watch.:goodvibes

They don't even give you an hour to wait. You either take the table they have ready or you lose your reservation. I'm guessing they had more people waiting for a table with a view than they could accommodate.

They do have a space for you to stand up and see the fireworks, should your table not have a view.

We were just recently there. They would not let us request a table on the patio, but they did let us go out there to view the show.

You can request a patio table with a view of IllumiNations when you check in at the podium. They may honor your request or you may have to take the first available table. I have never heard of a 1 hour time limit for waiting. If you are seated inside or at a table without a view, let your server know you want to see IllumiNations and they will pace your meal accordingly. Just before the show remind your server and they will direct you to the viewing area adjacent to the patio. It has a very good view.

We celebrated DD's 12th birthday at the Rose and Crown because she is a big fan of all things British. We went through a meal and cake on the patio, then watch illuminations afterward. After seeing the world showcase, this has to be one of the better place to watch the show. I felt like we were really front and center.

They did let us request the patio, and they let us stay in our seats to watch Illuminations as we were already on the patio when our meal had ended. In our case, we were one of only a few families out there until right before Illuminations - then it started to fill up about 20-30 minutes prior. I think people were scared off by the rain that had happened earlier in the day and then decided it would be a good / safe bet to try to get on the patio to eat after a while. I hear that otherwise, this patio is usually packed.

Overall - great viewing area of Illuminations - I think it has to be one of the best!

As others have said, you can request a patio table with a view when you check in, but they may not be able to accept requests. There is really no way to know in advance if they're accepting requests, but I would go with the expectation that they are not so you won't be disappointed if that's the case.

If you are seated inside or at a patio table without a view (not all patio tables have a good view), there is the reserved viewing area for R&C patrons. Just let your server know you want to see the show and they'll escorted you out to the viewing area.

The view from the front of the area is amazing. It's a "prime" viewing spot (as long as the wind isn't blowing the smoke towards you). If you're in the back, the view is still very good, but some of it might be blocked by the guests in front of you.
