I have an 8pm dinner res. for Rose and Crown on a night when Illuminations is at 10:30.
After talking to Guest Services/Res. i found out that R&C closes at 9 no matter what time Illuminations is scheduled.
Anyone have experience with this? Should I keep looking for a later res. or go to one of the other "viewing" restaurants and cancel my 8pm R&C?

I would keep it. In my experience, R&C runs behind. So you likely won't be seated until sometime after 8 anyway. Plus, the other viewing restaurants do not have guaranteed viewing, nor a viewing area. The Rose and Crown has a viewing area of it's own. At the other restaurants you may or may not get a table with a view.
