Illuminations viewing at Rose & Crown

Anyone viewed Illuminations from the Rose & Crown? How was your dining/viewing experience?

Ate there mid-Sep 05. Loved it. Requested, very politely and with an acknowledgement that we might not be able to get it, a table on the patio, and got it (Second tier though). Could see all of Illuminations except for the really high fireworks. Food was interesting, things I never would normally eat, ie. the 5 County cheese plate. Very much enjoyed the night. Try it if you can.

We viewed illuminations for the Rose and Crown a few weeks ago. The view was good, but a little too close maybe. We were seated out on the terrace and the first fire work shot off from about 5 ft away from our table. This scared the you know what out of just about everybody out there! But, it is definalty an unobstructed view of the whole lake, very nice but might be intense for little kids.

The food at the Rose and Crown, was to put it nicely GROSS! This was the 2nd time we ate there. Once for lunch and then our dinner to watch illuminations. The food was equally bad both times. I would suggest just getting desert maybe if you really want to watch the show from there. Also the service was horrible. We were on the dining plan and skipped the dessert the server was soooo slow. We would probably still be there 2 weeks later waiting for our check!

we do it every trip if you get there 1 hour early and sit to the left side of the pub you will get the best view you can get .donnt ask to be seated just grab a table at the wall and sit DONNT GET UP OR ITS GONE FASTTTTTTTTT. send some one to get the food and bring it back .you donnt even have to eat, the seat arnt even part of the pub its just s rest area its the best place to sit.we park at boardwalk eat there then walk in the back way and you come out at the rose and crown and when you leave no wait just walk back or take the boat ride your out in notime at all
