Illuminations time - weird time

We have traveled to WDW every Christmas / New Years week for the last 5 years. Illuminations is always at 9pm. Why has it changed this year to 10:30pm. It is messing up my dinner plans.

Typically the only day they run a different illuminations schedule during the holiday weeks is New Years Eve they run two shows.

Thoughts??

IllumiNations is always at 9:30 PM from the day after Thanksgiving through December 30.

Added hours are great but it is messing up my rose and crown adr. Last seating is at 8pm.

That is definitely a bummer!:)

Maybe at some point they will extend the last seating until 9:00 PM for the 10:30 PM closings.

So 80 thousand or so guests will get extra time in the park but it messes with your ADR. I'm not sure you should expect much sympathy.

Wow that was really rude. I will never understand rude people. I was just asking if anyone knew why they changed it. It is odd that illuminations is at 10:30 but the last seating in all restaurants is 8pm. Rude people like you are exactly why I seldom visit these boards.

No need to get nasty.
Thanks for being polite.

I wonder if it is a misprint. THat is a strange time, I have always liked the 9:30 timeframe for Illuminations because it gives us a little extra time to enjoy dinner before the show.

That is exactly why I asked. It seems like a strange time. I don't want to get there and plan on 10:30pm show and have it actually go off at 9:30. I prefer the 9:30 show but either is fine if I know it is the correct time.

I agree. I can always make a time work, but I need to know it is the correct time. Once you have the ADR, it is hard to move it.

Disney has started to do Illuminations at 10 on Fridays and Saturdays in October the past couple of years, maybe this is something they have found works to spread the night time crowds to another park other than MK?

I think that is just to give Guests another hour to "spread" more money to Mickey during F&W!lol:)

Mea Culpa.

Now that I've reread what I hastily posted without rereading it - it wasn't intended but it did indeed sound rude.

Apologies OP. I sincerely hope you can get the ADRs you want.
