Illuminations - ? Rose & Crown ?

Is there good viewing of illuminations from the rose and crown? If so, when would you book and just how many table have a view... I know they can make no promises.
Last yr we had a terrible seat for dinner, we were practically on the sidewalk and right next to a register that the staff needed access to, I was bumped several times, but the server wasw great, so was the food, despite many posts to the contrary and a chef even visited our table.

We were seated inside Rose & Crown and when it was time for the fireworks, the waitress took us out to a viewing area where we could watch the fireworks and then we were able to return to our table afterwards.
