How soon can you book an Illuminations Dessert party? Who does that get coordinated through? Also, what's the difference between having it at Morocco versus UK Lower or Upper? I tried finding all the locations last week when we went to Epcot but it was so confuzzling. :rotfl:

Also, I'm looking at the website with the ADR calculator and I was wondering what events everyone else booked. I thought the Grand Tea would be cute to do with my bridesmaids - but I never heard of "Grand Adventures in Cooking" at the Grand Floridian. What is that?? :goodvibes

Thanks for reading! All of this stuff is happening so fast since we booked our date and I just wanna make sure everything is all set so I could start with the other things!

I believe you can book your desert party a year out (since its inside the park). Your sales coordinator will be able to book it for you. The location you're assigned depends on your estimated guest count. I think Morocco and UK are some of the smaller locations, while Italy Isola is one of the largest. The desert party locations are the open areas next to the water... they're kinda hard to pick out unless there's a desert party happening and the area is already blocked off.

Thanks for the quick reply! I just e-mailed our wedding coordinator and she gave me some of the details.

One thing I didn't know about (mousesavers didn't mention it) is that there's a set up fee for seating of "$75.00+". I guess I thought some basic table and chairs were included to have dessert. She said that people who are seated will have a limited view of the fireworks and should only be used for eating.

How much did you wind up paying for seating (table and chairs?) for 20 or less people?

You will quickly find that yes, there is a fee for everything with Disney. If you choose to do the DP and pay the $12.50 ppn viewing fee instead of everyone having park admission for the day, you also have to pay a host/hostess fee of I think $50. If you have more than a certain number of people (not sure what that number is off the top of my head) then you'll have to pay another $50 for a second host/hostess... I think when I was planning my illuminations event it was $275 for the site fee and $75 for tables and chairs. If you use one of the areas like UK that has existing seating, you get to skip that $75 fee.

the uk upper has tables and chairs i think, we are using the lower so i guess we have to pay for tables and chairs, What i was thinking is are they really needed for 1 hour?

Yes, I think the tables and chairs are only UK upper. Lower I think has benches, so if it were me, based on my group, I'd skip the table and chair rental. As long as people have somewhere to rest if they need to, I wouldn't worry about tables for desserts.

Need some opinions...we are having an illuminations DP at Morocco for about 20 people, do you think it's worth paying extra for the tables and chairs? Or should we all just stand?:goodvibes

we are having the lower terrace for our dessert party, cant wait

and yep disney do charge for everything, including placing your favors etc lol

18 Days Mush!!! Bet you cant wait. I cant wait for the tr!
