Illuminations or Wishes Cruise?

My family of 6 is going to Disney World in June for my wifes 50th birthday, and we want to surprise her with a birthday cruise.We want it to be as special as possible for her.Any opinions on which one would be the better experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance.

Illuminations Cruise is probably what I would do. I think the cruises are nice because it's just you all, but the viewing spot is good but not as good as some standing areas around the World Showcase.

I just think Wishes is best IN the Magic Kingdom, but that's just me.

I did the Wishes cruise and the view was spectacular, I heard that the view of illuminations was filled with smoke from the fireworks
