OK, I have a dilemma...I cn only do one on my short vacation, so I was curious to know which one would get the most votes and that is the one we will do...thanks so much for your time

I love both, and they appeal to different sides of me. But if I could only do one, I would do Illuminations.

But I don't think you can go wrong either way! Have a great trip!

That's a tough choice! You said you only have one night, and according to your countdown clock, you're going to be there at the end of the month, when Fantasmic is at 7 pm and IllumiNations is at 9 pm. You do realize you could see both in the same night? Even taking the slow boat to China (I mean Epcot!), you still should not have any trouble getting there before 8:30 pm. I know it takes an effort, but sometimes ya gotta do whatever it takes!
Just a thought!

I would most certainly without a doubt choose Illuminations!
Great music, fountains, and fireworks with the most spectacular setting in WDW. We always have dinner at the Rose & Crown our 1st night and when Illuminations start I get chills.
James has a good idea...however I think you would have to RUN like H*LL from the Fantasmic show all the way to EPCOT.
There is no way you could take the boat which will wait to fill to the brim at that time of night, stop 1st at Swan/Dolphin, then Yacht/Beach, then Boardwalk, then putt over to EPCOT.
If you did that you would have to ask people getting on the boat at EPCOT, "how was Illuminations?"
Just my thoughts however,
Good Luck!

my eight year old did not like Illuminations at all and the rest of us all preferred Fantasmic.

I have not seen Fantasmic yet (hope to in May!) as it was rained out on my 10/03 trip. We did see Illuminations. Personally, I didn't see what the big deal was. Yes, the music and fireworks are nice. But the globe part I was not inpressed with at all. Most of the time, I couldn't even make out what the pictures on it were, and I thought that part lasted way too long.

Anyway, that was just my impression. If I had to choose, I would say see Fantasmic as what I have seen of it in pictures makes it look way cooler than Illuminations, IMO.

If I could only do one, it would be Fantasmic but I would take James D's advice and see both!

I loved Fantasmic - if you have kids that is probably the one to choose

I love both, but if I could only do one, it would be illuminations.

Boy, I need some more votes, I am pretty much 50/50....I really want to do both, but don't know how I could possibly get a good seat for illuminations if I do fantasmic! Any suggestions would be greatly appritiated!!!

I did both on the same night a couple weeks ago. Went to Fantasmic, used the PS fantasmic meal seating and sat near the back. I quickly left at the end of fantasmic and hurried over to the Boardwalk (drove my car) for an illuminations cruise. I had plenty of time to spare, got to boardwalk by 7:50.

I was just there. As you come into the World Showcase from Future World, there's a nice viewing area. It's in between the 2 shops. Just grab a spot of cement and enjoy! You don't really need to be right on top of the lagoon to see the show. My brother really enjoyed the fire.

We did Wishes at the MK and got to EPCOT in 20 minutes. (That was using Disney transportation, too!) Plenty early to get a good spot to watch Illuminations.

There are a lot of good places to watch illuminations from....most of them are on the international gateway side of World showcase....

I would go to fantasmic and then walk only take the boat if you can get the first one....the walk is about 20mins and the wait for the boat would be much longer...

I would enter Epcot through the international gateway and walk toward the right (france) until you find a place you fill you have a good view....I don't think there are many horrible views....just that a few are better then others....but I have always enjoyed illuminations no matter where I stood or sat...

You'll like both!!!

If you have kids, do Fantasmic!:wizard:

If not, you could do either. I voted for Fantasmic for one simple reason: You get to sit down!:moped:

What can I say, I'm lazy!:teeth:

The great thing is, no mater what you pick, you can't lose! :wave2:
