Illuminations, Fantasmic, Wishes Questions

Can someone give me a run down of exactly what Illuminations, Fantasmic and Wishes are? I see some restaurants have dinner packages along with these nighttime shows...is it possible to take advantage of those with the dining plan?

Any information would be appreciated...Thanks!!!

Illuminations: Takes place at Epcot, one show nightly at park closing, usually 9pm or 9:30 for the holidays. Its an amazing fireworks show with lasers, music and should not be missed.
Fantasmic: At MGM studios at park closing. Very very long lines. You can get a fantamic dinner package consisting of dinner and the show. You have a choice of dinner at Mama Melrose or Hollywood and Vine which take 1 table service credit with the ddp or Hollywood brown derby which takes 2 table service credits. With the package, you only have to show up about 20-30 minutes before the show starts. Without package, an hour or more. The show is fantastic w/ characters, fireworks, and awesome special effects. To me, its worth the admission price to MGM alone.
This shows once or twice per night depending on peak or low season.
Wishes: At MK. This is the firework show above Cinderella Castle. Usually at park closing, but not always every night. Another wonderful show!

Wishes is the nightime fireworks presentation at MK (my personal fave). Hosted by Jiminy Cricket... Wishes gets me every time!

Illuminations is a laser light, water & fireworks presentation at Epcot over the WS lagoon.

Fantasmic is held in its own theater in MGM. There is a dining package available which guarantees your seats in the theater on the far right side as you face the stage. Can be beneficial during peak crowd times as people can begin filling the theater 1 1/2 hrs prior to show time. IMO, not necessary during less crowded times. Also note this show can be a bit scary for young ones. Mickey is the star but villians are out... some intense moments.

Don't know about packages on the dining plan works... we avoid the DDP like the plague.

Do not forget Spectromagic -- the nightime parade at MK (not every night during low seasons, unfortunately) -- just wonderful!!
