Hello Everyone!

I have finally received the contracts for our Dessert Party on January 7, 2007. There were a few things I wanted to mention just to keep everyone up-to-date.

Firstly, the venue fee was increased to $250 (it was $200 earlier this year when our original information was obtained) and there is also a $75 "furniture" fee for them to move/setup the table with the desserts etc. Because of these differences, the cost per person has gone up a bit and it will now be a total of $40/person rather than $38/person as we originally thought. If this difference proves to be a problem for anyone, I truly understand - I was very frustrated that it took so much time to get the TOTAL price after asking so many times. So, if you do not want to or cannot pay the new fee I totally understand and will take you off the list. If we end up with enough people to bring the cost down (since the venue fee and furniture fees are fixed, the greater number of attendees means less per person) I will be happy to refund the difference on the night of the party - I'll bring cash and disperse it as necessary. So please know I am doing all I can to keep the cost down so that as many as possible can participate!

The other important piece of information is that we need to include a $500 deposit with the signed contract. This was another point of contention since the catering manager originally said we would just need to have final payment in November but then recanted and asked for a $1000 deposit. When I complained, we were able to compromise on a $500 deposit instead. I will put this on my credit card (the only way to pay for it) but I would really appreciate it if any of you who are willing would go ahead and pay so that I can then use that money to pay off the deposit once it shows up on my statement. Please send me an email or a PM with your email address and number in your group and I'll send you a paypal invoice. If you cannot pay right now, that is fine and we now have until the end of December to pay the final amount.

The last piece of information regards an option called a "viewing fee." This is offered for those attendees who either don't have park tickets or who don't want to use a whole day on their tickets just for the party. This fee is $13/person and allows you to enter the park for the party without park admission. If you need this option, let me know and I'll make sure your name (and those in your group who also need it) is on the list and I'll adjust your invoice accordingly. **Update***The catering manager has told me that those who choose the viewing option will meet at a designated entrance at a specified time (she said 8:00 - 8:15ish) and then will be escorted to the party.

If anyone has any questions, please please let me know and I"ll try to get you the answers as quickly as possible. I will be leaving town on Friday morning 9/15 for a night at WDW and a week on the Disney Magic. Since I'll be on the ship for that week I won't have much internet access but will be checking in as soon as I get home on 9/23.

Thank you all so very much for your enthusiasm and patience as I have worked out these details. I know it has dragged on for a while but please know that I have done all I can to make this as affordable and pleasant an experience as possible!

I can't wait to see you all in January :)

Rhonda, Thanks for the update!

I like this viewing fee option, as I am unsure if I would want to use up a park ticket. Did they say what time we would be allowed into the park with this option?

Rhonda,
Unfortunately you will need to remove my name from the list as I will not be making it to WDW for the Marathon this year.

Dana - I was sorry to read on the weekly thread about you having to forego race weekend this year. We'll miss you!!

Colleen - That is a great question - let me ask the catering manager about what time you can enter with the viewing pass and get back to you.

Thank you to those who have already contacted me about invoices - I sent them out this morning.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in January!

Colleen - the catering manager responded that those with the viewing option will meet at a designated entrance at a specified time (8:00 - 8:15ish) and then will be escorted to the party. Thanks for asking as I had not thought to - I updated the original post to reflect this new information.

I will be checking in here until late tonight but then it will be hit-and-miss once we are at WDW and then on the cruise ship. So, PM or email me and I'll get back to you as soon as I can but please don't be alarmed if it is not right away :)

Thanks Rhonda, you have a wonderful cruise! We have the same cruise booked for Thanksgiving 2007.
