We are also looking to share an Illumination Cruise. Arriving June 13 for 5 nights . . . anyone still looking to share with our family of 3 (mom, dad, and 8yr son) :>

ohioan4disney It's great to see you here on the DIS. I'm really glad that you found us and I hope you enjoy planning your trip with us.

I think you will have better luck finding an Illuminations Cruise to share if you post to ILLUMINATIONS CRUISE CENTRAL FOR JUNE

Good luck with finding a cruise to share!

Katholyn

Do the pontoon boats move around to avoid the smoke from the fireworks?? I have read that this could be a problem. Is it safe to say that EPCOT has the IllumiNation fireworks and light show everynight?? Thanks for your help.:earsboy:

The boats anchor beneath a bridge and do not move around. We did not experience any trouble with smoke during our illuminations cruise. It will all depend on the direction of the wind.

I have watched Illuminations from that little island by France and been covered with smoke and ash. It's just something that goes along with fireworks. You are at the mercy of the wind direction.

Could we get an October one going, please?
:)

UPDATE:
Thanks, NativeTxn :)
You musta snuck it in on me!

I'd love to get an Illuminations one for the first days in October--there's four in my fam--my husband, myself, my 3 and 5 yr olds :)

I noticed you can upgrade your cruise to include snacks, etc. My question is Can we bring our own on board? I would bring snacks for the kids and margaritas for me! Is this allowed????

I have 2 cruises booked - one for first night we have free and the second for what I think is my first choice! I have to sit down and go over itinerary again and see what makes most sense.

Anyways, one tip for you all..... I called Monday starting at 6:55 am est or earlier and kept redialing. When I did finally get a different recording :) I pushed 5 right away and I ended up getting stuck on hold for nearly 10 minutes! I almost hung up several times and thought it was futile to keep waiting but when someone did pick up the phone I got their last boat! So don't give up - they probably had so few attendants or other people were calling about other stuff or something!

I called again today and briefly got the hold message but a CM basically picked up again right away and I got another reservation! I will post when I decide which night I am going to cancel.

Another encouraging thing was that both CM's volunteered that we would plan to see Illuminations even though I asked for Specialty Cruise instead of an Illuminations Cruise. Also I did request 8 p.m. but they said to get there between 8 and 8:15 with departure at 8:30 to see Illuminations.

The first day the lady talked up the extra choices of decorations etc and the CM today gave me choice of departure sites. Interesting how you get different info from different CM's!

Question

I am going on a MK fireworks cruise the same night that there is an E-ride night. Will I still be able to get in for the E-ride? I know you have to be inside the park before it closes for E-ride.

Thanks!
Sarah

I have a question for you IllumiNations vets....I have my cruise booked. Offered to share and was taken up on my offer. My party at this point consists of 4 adults, 2 teens, 1 9 y/o. Now, I've gone and offered the remaining seats to friends who will be there at the same time. They are 2 adults, 2 teens. Question... 6 adults, 4 teens, and a 9 y/o going to be okay seat-wise?? I don't want to get there and be embarrassed. I guess if I have to tell someone they can't go before-hand I'll be embarrassesd too!!

We would love to share an illuminations cruise any time from Aug 31-Sept 5.

Two adults and 1 really really good 9 year old.

Any one interested? We are staying at the CBR.

Thanks

I called today and was able to get a cruise for August 1 (I assume on a platoon boat) for the Magic Kingdom fireworks. The funny thing is when I mentioned we are staying at the Contemporary Resort the reservationist said they would have the boat pick us up there and to be ready by 9:00 pm.

My question is - is the Magic Kingdom fireworks any less than the Epcot fireworks? Will the view be as good assuming the boat is picking us up at the marina at the Contemporary?

Thanks

TO ANYONE WHO WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO RESERVE AN ILLUMINAIONS CRUISE FOR OCT.18th,19th, OR 20th...WE ARE 8 ADULTS LOOKING TO SHARE YOUR BOAT.

OR ANYONE WHO HAS ROOM FOR 2 ADULTS OCT.21st-24th, MY DH AND I WOULD LOVE TO JOIN YOU.

PLEASE E-MAIL ME: KLSTELLATO@AOL.COM

THANK YOU, KAREN:Pinkbounc:bouncE

ohMom It is my understanding that you may bring refreshments on an Illuminations Cruise if they were purchased on Disney property==so stop by the boardwalk general store and/or Sweet Dreams bakery and grab some snacks and a bottle of wine and take it with you.

I really like that purple clipart in your signature, ohMom ;)

Miscrapper Congratulations getting those reservations. Once you get on hold you shouldn't hang up because if you do you will be put at the end of the answering queue again.

harleyquinn I personally can't give you an answer to this question. The answer depends on when the park closes. If it is open until 10 then I would think you could get into MK afterwards for enight.

If I were you I would call CRO and ask them directly. Let us know what you find out.

goofy4tink I'm assuming you have one of the pontoon boats reserved. If that is the case then you will be alright with 11 people on board since one is a child.

Have you called WDW-PLAY to give them your final count? They usually ask you to call them back if you increase the number of people going on the cruise, so that they can make sure they have enough life jackets on board. You could call and ask them if it will work for 10 adults and one child.

Jakesmom1 Have you posted this to the August and/or September Illuminations cruise centrals? I think you will have better luck finding a cruise to share if you do. Here is a link to ILLUMINATIONS CRUISE CENTRAL FOR AUGUST and ILLUMINATIONS CRUISE CENTRAL FOR SEPTEMBER

Good luck.

Milo99 Welcome to the DIS, I'm really glad you found us.

I've never experienced the Magic Kingdom fireworks so I can't tell you much about them. They are the same cost as the Illuminations Cruise, though.

klstellato Welcome to the DIS, I'm so glad you decided to join us. I think that you will have better luck finding a cruise to share if you post your request to our Illuminations Cruise Central for October and you will find that right HERE. Good luck finding a cruise to share, they are magical!

Katholyn

Thanks Katolyn. Yep, I did call them to double-check and seems we'll be fine. But, no one ever asked how many were going. Me thinks that maybe I should call and just double-check so there are enough life-vests. Thanks for the thought.

I was just having a look at the "Theme Parks, Attractions and Strategies" Link at the top of this page and under the Fireworks and Parades link and it says there are no illuminations at Epcot on any night in September. Am I reading this wrong?? I thought there were illuminations every night. Please some one put me outa my misery and tell me there are illuminations in September.

Welcome to the DIS, sweetpeajoey, I'm very glad you found us and I hope you enjoy planning your trip here.

I think that is most likely a typo or other human error. I'll check with the webmasters to make sure and post here when I find out.

Katholyn

Good news! It is just a typo, it will be corrected.

Illuminations is scheduled for September. Whew! What a relief, huh?

Wow thanx nativetxn, I really got upset when I saw there were no illuminations I am so looking forward to seeing it. I have heard it is really spectacular!! Thankyou so much for finding out for me!

Btw. On the same info board it said that the show "Fantasmic" was only on the 21st of September. But on other sites it says that it runs every night. Do you happen to know which is correct? Have you seen this show? Is it worth going?
