Hi,

I am thinking of booking the Illuminations Cruise at Epcot for my daughters 10t
th birthday as a surprise.

Anyone done it and requested the boat be decorated with birthday ballons etc?

Also , what time do the cruises depart ? We are dining at Cape May first.

Thanks

I have never done one so can't help you with the details, although I would love to. How many of you are there? If there are only a few it may not be a bad idea to try see if anyone will share one with you, unless you want it to be exclusive. It's the only reason I haven't done one (cost for 2 people).

Same, I thought of doing one for our September 2011 trip, but its just too expensive for 2 people

Sounds like a lovely idea though! Hope you get some good advice :thumbsup2

The boat departs 30 mins before Illuminations starts so normally at 8:30pm.

You have to pay extra for decorations.

The cruises get booked up pretty quick.

Hi,

There will be 8 of us , so not too bad .

I'll have a go at booking tonight , I want it for 7th June so fingers crossed !

:)

We have done both an Illuminations cruise and a Wishes cruise.
The Wishes one we did for our 20th Anniversary and was decked out in balloons, came with drinks and snacks (although they weren't needed as we had just had an all you can eat skillet in Whispering Canyon :goodvibes)
As I remember ours also left at around 8.30pm so that the captain had time to show us some of the intersting sites and let us in on some Disney secrets around the lagoon. We also got to see the Boat Pageant (3 times in fact) from close up. There is a full description of our trip in the October 2009 trip report in my signature below if you are interested.
As has already been said though you do need to be on the ball when booking. They release the cruises 6 months in advance and they book up almost straight away.
Good luck :thumbsup2

Thank you

I will try tonight & will let you know if i have any success .

:)

We did this on 1/1/11 for my wife's 40th. $325 + $25 for Birthday banner, Cake $21 + $70 for bottle of wine.

You also get a cooler full of cans of pop for the kids and a basket of chips, snacks etc.

Expensive yes, but worth every penny as a one off . Do it!!

They depart 8pm from B&Y Club for the fireworks at Epcot for 9pm. We had Captain Ron he was great with the kids.

sad:

Just tried to book and no availability.
Was told to ring back incase they get any cancellations.

sorry you didn't get one, do keep ringing back though as people do cancel.

People do cancel - seeing as though they have to leave their credit card details they are more inclined to let them know if they can't make it.
Have you tried the dates close to your daughters birthday as a back up?
