Illuminations Cruise Transportation Question?

We have booked an Illuminations Cruise for our next trip, now I have a question related to transportation to and from the cruise. We need to meet at the Bay Marina at the Yatch Club to board the cruise. My plan is to exit Epcot by the International Gateway to walk to the marina. Is this the right approach and how long whould it take?

Also, after the cruise how do we get back to our resort, POFQ? I am thinking bus from Yatch Club to Downtown Disney, then either bus or boat to POFQ. Or would it be better to walk back through Epcot and catch a bus back to POFQ. Any advice would be appreciated.

Walking from the Epcot International Gateway to the marina should take no more than 15 minutes. That's what I would do.

To get back, I'd go by cab, but I'd be very tempted to just walk back through Epcot and take the direct bus versus fooling with going to DtD since it always seems like those routes take a long time.

We did that cruise on New Year's Eve once, and were staying at AKL (concierge booked it for us on Breathless - super cool of them to do that, and it is fun watching folks elbow to elbow while we sipped champagne and watched from the boat).

We left and took a cab right away from the Yacht Club. That is definitely what I would recommend doing - it would take a while to do anything else. I would not walk back through Epcot since it will be filled with those leaving to catch their buses. That would add maybe an HOUR to get back to your resort! Maybe more.

Another choice, depending on EMH @ DHS (and the weather) would be to walk/boat over to DHS and bus home from there.

You could stop @ Beaches and Cream and have a snack while walking.
