Illuminations cruise food question

We are going to dinner at Coral Reef and I've ordered a 10 inch cake for DH's 40th birthday but now I am thinking that since we get dessert with DDP I should do a mini cake for DH's 40th birthday on our illuminations cruise. I don't want a TON of leftover cake. We are 2 adults and 3 kids - I think the mini cake will work since we will be full from Coral Reef. Figured I'd put it out there to see what everyone else thought.

Personally I wouldn't want to eat anything that has to be cut on the cruise. I'm doing my 4th cruise this week and I've never found it convenient on those boats.

Maybe order cupcakes from the Boardwalk Bakery instead of having to cut and serve cake.
