Hi there

Anyone looking to share an Illuminations Cruise during September? If you have reserved an Illuminations Cruise and are willing to share, please post your date here. Perhaps we can coordinate this and help each other out.

When you post your reply, use the subject box to tell whether you need space (and how many you need) on a cruise or if you have space available and include the dates. I think that might make it a little easier to coordinate a match.

Even with the new changes, you can still get an Illuminations Cruise

There have been some changes made in the Illuminations Cruises. First, they are no longer called Illuminations Cruises, all of the fireworks cruises at WDW are known as "Specialty Cruises" because they cannot guarantee that you will see Illuminations.

There are also daytime "Specialty" cruises. They are booked at two hour intervals beginning at 12 noon. In order to have a chance to see Illuminations, you will need to call 407-WDW-PLAY 90 days in advance and request the 8:00 PM cruise, telling them that you hope to see Illuminations (or the Magic Kingdom fireworks). They will then schedule your cruise for 1/2 hour prior to the beginning of Illuminations.

Why can't they guarantee that you will see Illuminations? These cruises last 45 minutes, only. If, for some reason, Illuminations is delayed, your boat will still return to the marina when 45 minutes have passed, whether or not Illuminations has finished.

So, who has a cruise to share in September?

I hoping someone out there was able to book a cruise for September 1 and has extra space for two friendly, non-threatening, Illuminations-loving, 33 year old adults. Let me know!

Thanks

I am thinking about booking for an evening the week of Sept 4th. We have two adults and two kids. Anyone want to share?

I booked a MK Fireworks Cruise for Sept 3. Don't have exact info of when leaving but as soon as I do I'll post it here.

Anyway - we have room for anyone that would like to join us - probably up to 8 people. We are a party of two.

PM me if you'd like to join us!

Hi
We're two "normal" 30-something adults looking for a cruise to share. :) Anytime from Sept 19th - 24th would be great for us.

PM me if you are interested please!

Just checking to see if anyone might have a cruise for either Sept. 1 or 2nd. For two fun loving adults. my hubby and me. we love kids to.

Cheers
:wave2:

DH, DD1, DD11, and I are interested! We will be there 9/10-9/20.

I am going to call in two days and hopefully be able to reserve an Illuminations Cruise for Sept. 10. There will be five of us, one a 2 year old. If I am able to get one, anyone want to share?

Thanks.

I believe the cruise is $120 + 6% tax + tip for Captain. I am going to call tomorrow morning and hopefully be able to reserve one. If split is $60 plus tax and tip. I will post tomorrow morning if I am able to get through. I will begin calling at 6:55a.m. Wish me luck!

I have DH, DD11, DD2, and I. Is this just a cruise in the lake while Illuminations is going on? How many people can share a boat?

I think the cruise is only an hour, and they don't guarantee you will see illuminations, however, most people do. I think you can fit 10 on the boat. I will find out more tomorrow if I am able to get one.

I was able to get an 8 p.m. Specialty (illuminations) cruise for Sept. 10. There are five of us going, anyone want to share?

I'm so excited!

When I called to reserve my Wishes cruise the CM told me that they didn't have the schedule for fireworks yet and that there may not even be a Wishes that evening. Is this true and when will the schedule be out?

TIA
Jaci

Frannn, the cost is $117.37 plus tax which equals $120 total (I know because I reserved one this morning). You should tip the captain on top of that. It's about an hour cruise, leaves the Boardwalk area at 8:30 and cruises up by MGM, then comes back and heads to Epcot, where it stops under the bridge with France on the right. You view Illuminations from there - it will be right in front of you. Afterwards, you'll cruise back to the dock. A nice, leisurely cruise. I believe the boat will hold a total of 12 people. In case of a light rain, Illuminations will still go on and the boat can put up the canopy so you'll stay dry.
We did this last year with some DISers, going again this year. It's very special and a lot of fun!

MizzPrincezz - We are looking to share anytime from Sept 18th - 24th. It's just the two of us 30-somethings...I'll PM you, maybe we can figure something out!

Looking to share a MK Fireworks Cruise on Sept 24th or 25th. We are a family of 4. 2 adults and 2 children ages 5 and 7 need at least 8 people to reserve this cruise.

That is correct for the MK cruise. You will need to call back after the hours are released (or at least a month before) just to check and see what time the fireworks are scheduled, if they are scheduled. You have up to 24 hours to cancel the cruise.

NBFUN, Sent you a PM regarding sharing the cruise 9/10 if you're still interested! Thanks!
