I just got my cruise for Oct. 25th!!

I have NO idea how either! I screwed up, and started pressing buttons late, and wasn't even through all of the prompts when they picked up the phone!

Did you get an Illuminations Cruise? You are so lucky if you did, I have been trying the last three mornings and everything is booked by the time I get in and I am getting in RIGHT AWAY!! Redial, Redial, and then the prompts and someone picks up right away, but no luck!! I am hoping you did get the Illuminations Cruise because I have two mornings yet to try and right now, I am beginning to feel like this is a lost cause.....but if you got one, there is still some hope!!

McKelly -- Try calling beginning at 6:55. I must have called and redialed about 15 times, but I got through and have a Illuminations cruise booked for 10/15. Keep trying!

I did get the Illuminations cruise!! Honestly..like I said though I can hardly believe it!

I got through at 6:58 am, but then like I said bumbled though the prompts, and somehow..someway I got it!

Really though this will be the 5th Ill. cruise we've been on. I've only NOT been able to get one twice that I've tried, so don't give up!!

I am just asking for an 8:00pm specialty cruise for such and such a date, and there is a looonnnnggg pause (probably not, but it seems like it), then they ask, for how many people (4), and then they say which fireworks, (Illuminations), and they say, sorry we are booked. What are you guys saying to book it?

I always just blurt out..I NEED AN ILLUMINATIONS CRUISE FOR (whatever date)!

Usually by that point I am about to pass out from the anxiety of it all, or drop the phone with my sweaty hands!

Then when I actually get it I proceed to squeal like I just won the lottery!

AFTER the CM had the cruise secured she started asking me how many, etc..

The one I had this morning was AWESOME, and really knew what she was doing, AND fully understood that every second counted!

Do you make your first call around 6:55 am, and then hang up and hit redial as soon as the "still closed" recording starts?

Once you know they are open..DON'T listen to all of the prompts! As soon as you know they are open start hitting the numbers...3 then-2- then your phone number - then-1- then 1 again.

PRACTICE!! I know it sounds crazy, but I practiced entering the numbers as fast as I could!

When I booked a couple weeks ago I did pretty much the same. I started dialing at 6:55 and kept redialing until I got the open message. I almost hung up because I was soo in the habit. I didn't wait for hardly any words to come out I just started pushing the numbers as told to here on the Dis. I typed in my confirmation number instead of my phone number then got thrown off because I thought it was confirmation OR phone number but they needed both. I temporarily thought I had blown it but obviously I didn't. The CM I got was fantastic and also knew every second counted. Once she had it reserved she actually said, ok now that we are reserved lets go over some details.

I asked for the 8:00 pm specialty cruise on October 11 when the CM picked up. I was told not to say Illuminations cruise because some CM's may not recognize them as that. Once we were reserved I told her I would like to see Illuminations and she said definitely, the boat will leave at 8:30. She was spot on with her knowledge.

I hope you are able to get through, just remember don't wait too long. Everyone here is correct about what numbers to push and go for it!!

Arrive at Bayside Marina at 8pm (unless after Thanksgiving but before Jan 1) then arrive at 8:30pm

Boats depart between 8:15pm - 8:30pm (unless after Thanksgiving but before Jan 1) then depart at 8:45pm - 9:00pm

Between Thanksgiving and NYE IllumiNations is at 9:30pm so as not to interfere with the last performance of the Candlelight Processional.

When we booked our Illuminations cruise a couple of weeks ago, it took us three mornings of trying, but the third time was the charm. The hardest part was the time difference since 7am in FL is 4am in NV. DH tried the first two mornings (or nights for us) but I must have the lucky dialing fingers. Anyway, we followed all the instructions we found here and it was extremely helpful. Also the CM was very helpful too, got it booked for us first before getting the details.
Also, we have found 3 other DISer's to share our cruise and are looking forward to meeting them.

Well, I am up to try again. The CM's I have been talking with have been asking me for the details up front and I keep thinking that is why I keep missing, because someone always picks up right away, but then minutes pass by with them typing and asking me questions......I guess it is the luck of who picks up the phone, just like everything else. Oh well, two more trys, if I don't get it, I told my DH next time we go, we are staying concierge!!!

I'm sorry you didn't get it again today!

Just wanted to let you in on a little secret of mine. It may or may not help, but when it's time to enter your phone number, what I do is press 1234567890#.

It seems like I'm able to do that faster than find all of the numbers for my phone number. Every second counts you know!

It's a long shot, I know, but don't suppose anyone has spaces for 2 adults and 2 teens (well-behaved!) from UK between 10/11 and 10/23 (with the exception of 10/17). Have been trying for ages to book with no luck

My husband got ours on the first try. We called the number and hit 3 than 1 which bypassed all the phone number entering. I think those few extra seconds really help. We always try a run the day before to make sure those prombts still work. Good luck!
