Illuminations at La Hacienda?

What time should you make reservations at La Hacienda if you hope to get a table to view Illumination?

On our trip in January we had 7:45pm reservations at La Hacienda and we were there for Illuminations. There were 6 of us and we had drinks and desert. We didn't stay after the meal to try and watch, it worked out nicely.

Just so you know, even if you get the timing right you may not get a window seat. You may not even get a seat with any kind of view at all.

Also others have posted that there is no way to wait for one of these tables to open up.

So if this is your only time to see Illuminations you may be disappointed.

In theory this sounds like a good idea, but it's really not (we did it last year).

As mentioned before, you might not end up with a window seat (we didn't).

There's no perfect solution for timing - you may end up getting served quickly and then just dragging things out waiting at your table for the show.

They do pipe the sound for the show into the restaurant, so that's nice, but watching it from inside just isn't the same as outside.

All in all, more hassle than it was a benefit. If it doesn't mean that much to you and it works out for you, great. We'd seen Illuminations outside many times so it wasn't a huge deal that we weren't at a window, but if it's your only opportunity, I'd advise to reconsider.

I have to agree with all of the other PPs. It is just not worth the hassle. What I would recommend (since I really like the food there) is to either eat there and see Illuminations another night or eat there early and then find a spot outside to see the show.

I was wondering the same thing. We have reservations there at 8pm and illuminations is at 9pm. From what I hear there can be a long wait for tables even with a reservation. What is good to order here?
