Has anyone had dinner at la-hacienda-de-san-angel during Illuminations, can you see the whole show and do you need to be dining outside?

We had dinner at La Hacienda last November and stayed to watch Illuminations. I thought it was pretty enjoyable to watch it inside with a cup of coffee rather than fighting the crowds outside! We had a table near the window and my kids just moved closer to the window during the show. We could see just about everything from our seats.

Our reservations are for 7:30, I can't find any later. Should this be an ok time? If the park closes at 9:00 we shouldn't be holding any tables up, plus it's during F&W so I would think the restaurants wouldn't be as busy.

We ate there on Wednesday. We had 7:00 reservations and we were able to watch Illuminations from inside (some of us went outside). Great view from the windows, right on the lake. Music played inside. I will say, our server took quite a long time to ring up our bill (seperate room keys for the dining plan for all of us, seemed to take them longer) so that might have played into why we were there long enough to see Illuminations.

Our reservations were at 7:30 also and the timing worked out perfectly. Some of the restaurants on Disney property seem to go for rapid turn-over, however we never felt rushed here. Viewing from outside may have been more spectacular, although I imagine more crowded due to the quick service area out there. Inside the windows are vast and the experience was truly amazing! They dim the lights inside, and expect you to move around (especially the kids) for better looks.

Just remember
. . . windows seats can't be reserved or promised
. . . many non-window seats do not have a view

This.

And even from right by a window I didn't find the view to be worth fighting for or going out of the way to get vs. being outside. Except for the chair to sit on. But it is still luck of the draw if you get a view.
