I have questions about sharing a boat. I am the one with the boat and have already announced that I have extra room. We are now full. Here is my question. Is my cc charged for the full amount(w/out tip of course)? Also alot of people have responded to my open seats. I took them in the order that they PM'd me. How can I be sure they will show? So many others have inquired and I told them we were full. I would hate to get there and find we have extra space. I trust all that said they want to come are truely coming. Not just using this as a alternate plan until something better comes up. Has anyone else ever had these concerns with their boat? I want to fit as many as I can. Like my tag says "the more the merrier". I hope I didn't offend anyone with my post. If I did I am sorry.

Your cc will be charged the full amount. When we shared, the person who reserved went on the honor system we paid that night when we arrived. I have heard of others who asked for the payment of the guests to be sent to the renter, which I don't believe is unreasonable. Do whatever you feel best with. If others don't show, it will be you covering their cost.

Thanks, I think the honor system is just fine. I believe everyone who has expressed they wanted to go is sincere. I have pm/e-mailed all who will fit to let them know all the info except for the $. I am going to wait until I see the charge on my cc before I tell any of them the $ but I'm sure it will be quite reasonable.

Our card wasn't charged, it was just held. We paid cash once we got on the boat and then added our tip in as well. I would hope that the ones that said they were coming would definitely show or let you know if something comes up within a reasonable time for you to find someone else to take their place. Good luck!

We paid once we arrived at the dock and they charged each of our cc's half the amount. It was easy and must be done all the time. We had a great time and met a wonderful family.

I periodically emailed the other family sharing our crurise. About two weeks before we left I realized I still had room for two more. I had no trouble finding two more to share not to lower our cost but to let as many as possible enjoy the cruise. Everyone paid us upon arrival at the dock. We had a beautiful clear cool night in June and it was well worth it. Enjoy. :cool1:

Like most have already said, your CC is just to hold the boat, it will not be charged unless you do not show up for your scheduled cruise. The night of the cruise, you pay for the boat, on your credit card, room card, or cash, it doesn't matter.
I would also suggest you get cell phone numbers for each group in your party. Tell them to meet at Bayside Marina around 8pm, and if you don't hear from them by 8:15, you still have time to call. Finally, if they don't show up by 8:30 tell them you are cutting them loose and instructing the captain that you are not waiting any longer for them.

Crazy Hakim, it sounds so harsh but I guess your right. We will need to meet at 8pm for payment. All who are there at 8pm will board others will just have to blame themselves for missing out. I really think everyone involved will do their best ans of course unforeseen problems are just that unforeseen. Cell phone # exchange are a great idea though! thanks.
