Illuminated Travel Clock needed. Suggestions?

There are just so many to choose from and prices are all over the place. All I need is a clock that's small, reliable, with a digital/illuminated display... but not so much that it lights up the entire room (like the WDW clocks do ). This is my ONLY criteria. The clocks that I've seen online require that you set the alarm to have the clock illuminated throughout the night. I don't need/want an alarm. They scare the crap outa me. Not how I like to start my day. I've been waking myself up for over 20 years. If it's a travel 'alarm' clock then fine but don't make me have to use this feature just so I can see what time it is during the night. Any suggestions?

My most favorite clock to travel with comes from LL Bean. Battery operated, so not at the mercy of finding an outlet. It only requires a simple tap of the screen to lightly illuminate the BIG digital numbers to tell you what time it is.
