I am just wondering if anything like this has happened to you before.
about 3 years ago i was watching I: rof standing on the bridge between france and the uk.
the wind picked up and changed direction during the show as some of the ash from the firework was blown in are direction, this was about half way through.
some of the hot ash was blown into my eye.
not very nice and i spent over a hour in the first aid area.

At the time i no i was not the only one in there as it happened to a few peope.

i just was wondering has this happened to you ?

I've read about a couple of brides on the wedding boards being unhappy as they had an Iluminations firework party and the wind picked up in the wrong direction and made the firework smoke fill their reception area.

One of the many reasons we decided against EPCOT.

Never heard about eye ash though - must have been painful!

it was not one of best nights at epcot.
i never want to feel like that again.

I know someone who had ash blown in to their childs hair at MK under similar circumstances (they were watching fireworks behind the castle from the Fantasyland area). No long term harm but obviously some melted hair and think minor burn to the scalp so not very nice :(

It's obviously rare, but a rogue gust can happen so very quickly to blow ash further than it normally would travel...

When prepared for it, they've actually shut that area to guests for fireworks and I've seen the CM's sweeping up the ashes from the floor.

Its happened to us once - when we went for our wedding planning visit actually. Now we try and figure out which way the wind is blowing and choose our firework viewing spot accordingly.

Fortunately we could not have had a better night for the fireworks when it came to the actual wedding.

Yes it happens. I wouldn't say frequently but I do remember it happening to a guest once when I worked there. It happened to me quite a lot but I got used to it after a while!
