Illum cruise and epcot ticket

Hi all...
Tried to find a clear answer on this through search and couldn't find one, so I will ask a question that has probably been asked a zillion times before....
Does one have to have a park ticket to do the Illuminations cruise?

No park admission will be necessary!

You won't pass through any park gates, and won't need to use any admission for the Illuminations Cruise.

No park admission needed! That's what makes this a great first day activity if you arrive mid day and don't want to use an admission, but still feel like you're in the park!
