This summer, my granddaughter (age 10) and I will be taking a vacation together. We will arrive on a Monday, spend Tue -Thur at Disney World, then board Disney Wish on Friday for our cruise, returning on Monday.
Hopefully everything works out and we both stay healthy etc, but what happen if I start to feel ill?
Would we both isolate together in our cabin? I plan to bring rapid tests with me, I certainly wouldn't expose anyone on purpose. But what about leaving ship, would they help me find hotel and transport after cruise if I test positive? Obviously I couldn't get on a plane at that point.
I did purchase travel insurance, not through disney, so the costs aren't an issue.

This is what happened to us in July. Son felt bad, so we got him tested at the medical center. Tested positive for covid. Husband and I did not need to test, since we had 90 day recovery letters. They gave him some daytime/nighttime cold medicine. Only one of us needed to quarantine with him, since he's a minor. We all decided to stay in the cabin. They gave us the large internet package for free and asked what we needed after the cruise, ie hotel, rental car. We chose rental car and had already booked one for this specific case. They brought room service anytime we wanted. The 3 major meals could come from the MDR or from the room service menu. The positive people got off the boat last. They put the hotel people on a separate bus and the MCO people on another. We picked up our rental car and drove home. They covered the cost the rental car, gas, food, and lodging for our return home and gave us a prorated refund for the portion of the cruise missed. They would have paid for hotel and meals if we had decided to stay in Orlando area. We didn't bother using our DCL insurance. All of this could change by next summer though, so don't count on any sort of compensation or even transportation. I hope they continue doing this, but you never know.

Thanks. Hopefully won't need the info, but glad to know. I assumed we wouldn't be separated since she was a minor.

Also, a friend that traveled on a different cruise line with her family, she isolated alone in a special cabin, while her child and husband just tested daily, but were allowed to go out and about, as long as negative. She sugested that in my hypothetical situation, she would send her kid to the kids club, as long as they tested negative, but that didn't make sense to me, as I wouldn't want there to be a chance of getting anyone else's child sick.

Well we are both fully vaccinated, and I've had 2 boosters, and I'm just going to go with the flow and have a good time.
I do have notarized forms for travel and medical care for her.
