I'm sure this has been brought up before. I would like to know if, while on the DDP we could do the following:

Four of us on DDP, myself, DS(16), DS(13) and DD(10). Do we all have to use our credits at the same meal. Can I bank a TS credit? To be honest, although I am paying for 4 adult Dining plans, I am sure my daughter won't eat an adult meal at every TS, she probably won't want to eat a single adult meal but her brothers will be happy to scavenge off her.

Common sense says no but hey, If I don't ask I'll never know for sure.:confused3

NOT 'illegal' in any way.

You can use your credits any way you want, as long as only the people for whom the plan was purchased are eating (i.e. you cannot use credits to get food for Guests not on the Dining Plan); and if you have children (3-9) and adults (10+), you can't use child meal credits for adult menu items*.

*POS programming prevents this at table service locations; Disney expects Guests to use counter service credits the same way, but has not programmed the system to prevent alternative usage.

Here's the relevant portion of the Dining Plan rules, which kaytieeldr referred to in her reply to you:

It should be noted that neither bicker nor I is implying that the OP intended to use child credits improperly; we're both just providing general information (for future readers of this thread, who might think or plan otherwise ;))

Looking at the OP's original post I think she is saying can her 10 yo that she is paying adult DDP price not use the entitlement and can she just order her a kids meal OOP. If that is the question the answer is YES.
I thought I would be doing this but the choices on the adult menu were more appealing to my DD. You may also decide to allow your children to share an entree since some are rather large for a 10YO.

Indeed. Information provided; judgment not.

The rules appear to be open for interpretation depending on where you are dining.

There have been many reports of people doing just that...We may at a couple of meals. It CANNOT be done at buffets, for obvious reasons. If we are not allowed to feed 4 adults w/ 3 meals, we will pay OOP for a kid's meal for DS12 to save the TS credit to round out our week. That is a way to cheaply do this.

Thanks for all the great info! I can be assured that my DD will love to order off the adult menu at Concourse Steakhouse and be too stuffed to eat at Boma(except for desserts!). Ah well, at least I know it's possible.
