I'll show you my Lapu Lapu if you show me yours!

" It's official - Oct. 23rd I'll be an auntie again!"
I haven't psoted this yet? Where have I been?! CONGRATS to you and your sis! :grouphug:

Besides, this is my TR and I can write about anything I want, so there!
You go, girl! And. Off-topic-ness doesn't seem to stop any of us on thread that aren't ours, either.

[It's not easy being a single parent but my job is made that much easier by how great my babies are.
I'm right there with you and agree whole-heartedly :goodvibes

[Now back to the point of this thread. It's still up in the air whether my sister will be able to go on this trip but she really wants to. She's going to try to convince her DH to join us. If he does, I'm going to keep it a secret from the boys. They adore him and would be thrilled if he could come along.
Oh I hope she can make it! Keep telling her about how good the 2nd trimester is and I'll send some pixie dust your way pixiedust:

" It's official - Oct. 23rd I'll be an auntie again!"

I know you all may be wondering what the heck all of this baby stuff has to do with a Disney TR? Well, in between our trips to WDW, life happens right? Besides, this is my TR and I can write about anything I want, so there!

Today was spent with my little sis. Thank goodness I was able to get most of the day off on short notice. We went to the doctor and she got the official word. After that we had lunch with her hubby and my mom and all we could talk about was the baby and what a wondrous thing pregnancy and childbirth is, at least from my perspective. After that, we did some shopping and I bought her a book and a pregnancy journal. I then dragged her to the skate park where my boys were skateboarding with their daredevil uncle and I marveled at how quickly they've grown up and how proud I am of them. Seems like just yesterday I brought them home from the hospital. It's not easy being a single parent but my job is made that much easier by how great my babies are.

Yay!!! :yay: Congrats to you and your family! Oct 23rd was my due date for Maddie. She decided to show up on Oct 30th!
I'm sure single parenting isn't easy, but you sound like a wonderful mama!
I sure hope your sister is able to make it!!

Oh I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!!! I hope they go!!

Lauralee, thanks for the sentiment.:) My biggest concern is that she have a problem-free pregnancy. Anything over and above that would be icing on the cake!

I haven't psoted this yet? Where have I been?! CONGRATS to you and your sis! :grouphug:

No worries V, I miss things sometimes because I kind of skip around when I read other people's threads. Pretty cool though, huh? I love babies!

Aw, thanks Tracy! I know what you mean about the due date - they almost never arrive on time. But then again, not many of us know exactly when the "magical moment" happened.;)

Sabrina, thanks for the compliment! I don't feel as if I should have a 17 year old but it's true. It's crazy how fast the time flies. One day you're pregnant, the next you're sending them out into the world. Oh, sorry. I've been feeling somewhat nostalgic the past couple months. I'm going to be a basket case on graduation day!

I know exactly how you feel. The years just run right past us, I say along as it doesnt show on my face I'm good!!

I knew exactly when it happened. Vegas, baby! Last weekend of January 2001. Vegas is my magical pregnancy place. I stay away from Vegas, now!:rotfl:

Oh no!! I'm looking pretty beat up these days! :rotfl2:

Hi Tracy! I know, I've been MIA the last couple days. I haven't had much of a chance to get online since I've been swamped at work. Imagine the nerve of my boss actually wanting me to be productive.;) Doesn't he know I have more important things to be doing like DISing and online shopping? I haven't even hit TGM in a week! I've been wanting to get over to the Focker/Crocker thread - put it on my to do list for tomorrow.:)

I haven't spent much time on TGM either since the August best days came out plus the DIS is so much fun, I don't want to miss anything

I know! We were chomping at the bit for a while there, weren't we? I was losing sleep thinking about that darn " Best Days" update. Since then, I've been hangin' around here.:) To be honest, I had stopped posting on the DIS as much because of all the rudeness and drama sometimes. But once I started my pre-TR, I've met some really nice ladies like yourself so I've been neglecting TGM. I'll get back to it pretty soon though because I need to strategize my park touring now that I know where we'll be on which days.

Jo, did you notice we're almost under 5 months? Woohoo!

Well, not too much is going on in my Disney planning world. I won't know for a couple more months whether my sister and her DH will make it on the trip. Those of you who are obsessive planners like me must know that this is just killing the control freak in me. Nothing I can right now but wait and wait and wait.:headache:

Oh, got my Crocs delivered yesterday. Tracy, if you're reading this you're going to laugh at me. When I placed my order online it was pretty late at night. Well there I was yesterday all excited to open the box and try them. Well, I did and guess what? They're size 8 MENS!:sad2: So now I've got to send them back which means a trip to the post office which I hate. Someone remind me never to do online shopping after midnight.

Speaking of shopping, I'm reminded now that trips to WDW always involve other associated expenses. My digital camera died on me so now I'm in the market for a new one. Made my final decision and am soooo excited! I've chosen the Canon Rebel XTi. It's a doozie of a camera and somewhat intimidating for a photog newbie like me. It's a lot of $$$ but will serve me well what with graduations and new babies on the horizon. But wait, I'm not finished yet. Can't seem to find our video camera anywhere so I'm thinking it might be in the garage packed in DH's things. Do I want to go down into that dark, dusty, black widow infested garage? Nope! Well, maybe it's not that bad. Hey, I need some sort of justification to buy new stuff. We women are good at rationalizing our shopping.

So Lisa has a new bag baby, photography! I've been on the photography board a lot lately trying to learn as much as I can. The DIS really is a multipurpose site, isn't it? As soon as I buy the Rebel at the end of this month, I'll post my practice pics. Oh, the kids are gonna love me for that.

:lmao: Sorry, Lisa, but that was funny... no more late night internet shopping for you? You know I had to return Maddies Disney crocs the first time I bought them, as the were too big also. The turn around time was super quick. I've been getting lots of discount codes, so I'm going CROC crazy! Bought Evan, Maddie and myself another pair! But I haven't paid more than $20 for any of them!
Can't wait to see some of your pics with the new camera. I see you're learning Fuzzy Disney Math, too eh? ;)

This entire trip has been built on the Disney Fuzzy Math theory!:teacher:

I'd never even heard of DFM until I met you guys, you're all such a bad influence :rotfl2: My DH loves photography he's got a Nikon D70 which he dragged around the parks last trip but we're looking for a really good little one this year, our little digital has such a long delay from pushing the button to actually taking the photo it's a real pain (it's a few years old) so if anyone knows a good one? Lisa is your Canon a SLR or little one?

You're gonna LOVE your Rebel! I got the XT a few years ago, after years of refusing to go digital. I've used a completely manual Nikon F since high school, so I was well trained in camera uasge, but was totally intimidated by all the digital whozits and whatzits. But what I love about my Rebel is the ability to stick in fully automatic when I don't want to think about what I'm doing, (like when I'm at WDW on my own with DS), but can still shift into manual modes to hone my skills. I highly recommend checking our flickr.com, too, for lots of ideas!

Nope, the Rebel's an SLR. Fairly light (depending on your lens choice of course), but still 35mm sized. A couple of my techie friends swear by the Canon Powershot for a good point-n-shoot. Compact and takes some nice pics. :thumbsup2

I've got the Canon Powershot SD600 ELPH and SD450 ELPH. I'm not good at photography, but these 2 little guys sure make my photos look good! :rotfl:

That my dear is what you call shutter lag and the precise reason why I'm going down the SLR path. I hate shutter lag! I didn't even know what the heck you called it but I knew I didn't like it. Then when I started doing a little research I knew exactly what they were talking about. I went to a store that had the Rebel in stock and I was able to try it out. Undetectable shutter lag, at least to someone like me who has never delved into the SLR world.

V, thanks for the vote of confidence. I really feel I've made the right choice after doing a lot of "window" shopping.

This is a new hobby I'm excited about getting into but I can already tell after doing some research on lenses this past week that it's going to be an expensive one. Again, using DFM I've rationlized that if I ever decide to get another body after using the Rebel a couple years, I'll probably end up with another Canon and will still be able to use the lenses I've acquired. Don't 'ya just love DFM?;)

I'm was looking at a Canon for Daniel (my 13-year old) but I'll probably pass on it only because he's shall we say, not as careful as one could be with electronics, ie he'll end up dropping it on cement from 20 feet up. I'll probably end up getting one of the shock proof/waterproof models from Olympus or Nikon. Hey, wait! Then I can borrow it for when we go snorkeling.
